This documentation contains a little background on what the View website is and how I

tested the tickets on the View board.

Note: This is my own definition and experience only while I am a tester in View. View has
almost complete documentation on everything you want to know on this website.

First things to know in View

 View 2.0 is an upgrade of View 1, the goal is to develop a client friendly application
where the client can now get the necessary information for his / her work without the
help from a tech / development team. With its great UI design, it is easy to
understand, and all the data are available with just adding filters which is also
included in the application, this lessen the work of the developer because they don’t
have to create a query in order to get the data and also helps the client because they
no longer need to wait for the result of the said query before getting the data. Once
data is available it is organized within a table which has a sorting feature and other
features that may be needed by the client.
 If the menus in GOLD and BLUE are called "Vertical", here in VIEW it is called
“Module”. Currently, View has 13 modules and these are the following
o Business Loans
o Competitor Pricing Report (CPR) *this is the latest module added to View*
o Credit Cards – Business
o Credit Cards – Personal
o Credit Cards – Rewards
o Deposits – Business
o Deposits Personal
o Home Loans
o Low Doc-Reverse Mortgages
o Personal Loans
o Term Deposits – Business
o Term Deposits – Personal
o Marging Lending
 Once you are inside the Module you will see another menus and it is called “Report”
 Below is the test link and test accounts you can use:

view4@canstar.com.au
 For FE testers like me, don't worry too much about the data in the table because
after you check everything that can be checked by an FE tester or the testing criteria,
you will pass it on to a Data Analyst for appropriate testing on the data.

What to expect to see in View
1) Home page – here you will find the modules listed above. It has two tabs the first is
Banking and the second is Wealth, most of the modules can be found in the first tab
(Banking) while only one module can be found in the second tab (Wealth).

 As of now (Aug. 31,2021) CPR is only visible in UATs, it is not yet visible in
production.
 The modules are arranged in alphabetical order
 Please refer to the table below for easy tracking of what Reports are in each Module.

o I just copied this table, the one below is what I simulated - it's just a screenshot I
saved before and it's not updated so I made my own tracking.
o You can notice that New Products is stated as "removed" from the tracking I did
- this is because as the View rolls out there are some reports hidden in the FE
dropdown. See this ticket for more details.

 Credit Cards – Rewards and Margin Lending are the only modules without a
Snapshot menu, they only have a Deep Dive Analysis menu. The other modules
have the same menu.

 When in a report you will notice the options in each filter drop down are arranged in
aphabetical order

2) My settings – there are two ways to see the content of My Settings, the first way is in
the side menu of the page and the second way can be seen at the bottom of the home
page. My Settings have three sub menu there are;
 Account details
 My Brands
 Competitor lists
3) Admin settings – this can only be accessed by Admin users. However, if you have a
task related to it you can be given short -term access to it until your task is finished. The
ones that can be seen here are the following;
 Registered companies
o
 Statistical reports *this is the latest feature added to View*
4) Contact us have five sub menu these are;
 Request a training session
 Meet our team
 Update interest rates
 Rate alerts
 Feedbacks
5) FAQs
 General information
 Data
 Subscription
 Canstar view reports
Schedule a report
This is how you can schedule a report.
 Below the table in a report you will find the Custom Views (or presented as View:
Original)

 Once you click it > a modal will pop up > fill up the field (Name this View) > click save
o My Views - this section shows all the Custom Views you've done/created for
a report.
o Manage Views – from the word itself, you can manage the My Views
section; you can delete one in your Custom View if you want to replace it with
a new one or too many are listed in your Saved Reports
 Go to Schedule button above the table > schedule modal will pop up then fill up
fields

o Take note of Schedule Reports Run-Time

o For MNL team – when scheduling a report always set it according to the BNE
time zone - meaning 2 hours advance than the MNL time.
o Format for
 Once you have finished filling in all the fields and saved it, the page will reload. Go to
Saved Reports to see if your report is already there with the correct time and date
based on what you entered in the Schedule modal.
o Run Now – when you hit this
o Edit – you can edit the Frequnecy, Time and Date
o Cancel -
o Create Schedule – You can only see this if you only save a report in Custom
View and go straight to Saved Reports
 The next step you will need to do is to inform the people on #view-chats channel that
you have scheduled a report so that someone with access to the view inbox can
forward your report to you.
o You will receive a CSV format file. Take note that when you schedule on
Competitor Pricing Report (CPR) module, the file you will receive will be in
PDF format. See the differences between the two types of schedule report
output

Competitor Pricing Report (CPR) All modules in View except CPR

 PDF Format  CSV Format
 Displays in Landscape  Scrollable from left to right,
 Produce all the available vice versa
tabs  Produce one report – The
report contains the
scheduled result from a
single module

o When you open the file you should see that the number of columns and the
arrangement of columns in the UAT table and the CSV file are the same. No
columns are missing, no added column and no order is not followed in CSV
file. CSV file should always match the UAT main table.
