Module 1 Post Task

Bernantes Jaye P.

• Strengths

Strength's analysis will aid in identifying areas where you outperform your competition in order to
improve your competitive position, and it should be used to capitalize on environmental
opportunities such as strong market expansion and efforts to achieve diversified development.
Meeting business objectives is impossible unless one understands one's own capabilities. A tourism
destination with unique tourism advantages, such as fast-growing domestic tourism demand, may
pursue an aggressive market penetration strategy by expanding its modern tourism infrastructure and
engaging in intensive promotional activities.

• Weaknesses

Weaknesses are internal negative factors that stymie growth. For example, a local government unit's
poor financial standing; a poorly developed technical infrastructure; incompetent authorities; and so
on. The significance of its strategy is that it focuses on emphasizing opportunities while
simultaneously eliminating weaknesses. With rising tourism demand, a tourism destination with some
tourism advantages but a poor accommodation base may seek strategic partners for collaboration.

• Opportunities

Opportunities are favorable factors, specific occurrences, or favorable circumstances that can be
leveraged to succeed. Examples of such factors include favorable changes to tourism legislation, an
accelerated rate of economic growth (an improvement in earned income and discretionary income),
an enhanced state of the tourism market, improved transportation alternatives in the vicinity, and
initiatives designed to secure funding from outside sources for investments in funds or in kind (the
state).

• Threats

Threats are obstacles or risks that prevent development and the accomplishment of goals, such as the
underdeveloped tourism industry in neighboring regions, the economic downturn, traffic congestion
across international borders, or unfavorable unpredictable events (such as a flood, terrorist attack, or
war). This study analyzes a tourism property with no development potential and a small internal
prospect that is operating in an unfavorable surrounding environment. The goal of this analysis is to
minimize flaws and avoid threats.
