Spray system engine wiring harness modification This service letter is applicable to Simplex Manufacturing Model R44lll spray systems serial numbers 244 I 0007 thru 244 / O0O7 .

Summary:

During test operations it was discovered that the spray system wiring harness was incorrect and when installed on the aircraft the engine would not run because the engine stop switch was mistakenly grounded to aircraft ground. This does not create a safety of flight issue but did cause a functionality
issue.

This seruice letter provides instruction to make a wiring modification to the spray system wiring harness to allow for proper operation of the spray system engine. Required for proper spray system engine operation

Remove back shell clamps and slide back shell and strain relief away from connector (Figure 1)

Terminate wire number SS105C20. Cover terminated wire using heat shrink tubing (Figure 1)
Un-solder wire number 551L9820 from connection terminal 'B' and re-solder into terminal 'A' (Figure L). Reference Figure 2 for wiring schematic pre and post modification. Re-connect back shell and clamps(Figure L)
