Freedom of speech:
freedom of the media is the fundamental principle that communication and expression
through various media, including printed and electronic media, especially published
materials, should be considered a right to be exercised freely.
The right to freedom of expression is particularly important
for media,
absence of interference from an overreaching state; its preservation may be sought
through constitution or other legal protection and security.
Information of country’s national interest must be preserved
One tool widely used by the government is to cut off 'unfriendly' media from governmental
advertising.
Using draconian laws the government has also banned or officially silenced popular
television channels.
Restricted to certain website
corrects abuses of power
For example, in Austria, defaming Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, is not protected as free speech.
Article 19 of the UDHR states that "everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without
interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; in writing or in print, in the
form of art, or through any other media of his choice"
proposed by John Stuart Mill in On Liberty, which suggests that "the only purpose for which power
can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent
harm to others"
Thomas I. Emerson "The principle of open discussion is a method of achieving a more adaptable
and at the same time more stable community, of maintaining the precarious balance between
healthy cleavage and necessary consensus"
I MAY DISAPPROVE WHAT YOU SAY, BUT I WILL DEFEND TO THE DEATH YOUR RIGHTS TO SAY IT.

opinion in a civilized manner)
