Japan acknowledges the urgency of the situation, and has taken several steps to prevent the
crisis, employing - innovative use of technology.
The National Energy and Environment Strategy for Technological Innovation towards 2050
identified technological fields of priority to be developed from now on. For example, it
includes energy system integration technologies intended to maximize energy consumption
efficiency by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) throughout the entire society. The list also
includes generation of solar power with new materials, and technologies to effectively utilize
carbon dioxide captured from exhaust gases.
The 5th Strategic Energy Plan, aims to achieve a more diversified energy mix by 2030, with
larger shares for renewable energy and restart of nuclear power. It also aims to enhance the
efficiency of fossil fuel use and to reduce energy demand.
The gradual restart of nuclear power generation, expansion of renewable energy and energy
efficiency gains have reduced the need for imported fossil fuels, and contributed to a
continuous decline in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Japan recognises the importance of international cooperation in these dire times, and
endeavours to support other countries as they take action, specifically by providing
technological aid. XXXXXXX

There are many long-term effects of over exploitation of resources, including the onset of mass
extinction . Mass extinction refers to the wiping out of a large number of species from the earth
in a short geological period of time - the following are the 5 mass extinctions which have taken
place till now: • Ordovician-silurian Extinction: 440 million years ago. ///• Devonian Extinction: 365
million years ago. ///• Permian-triassic Extinction: 250 million years ago. ///• Triassic-jurassic
Extinction: 210 million years ago. ///• Cretaceous-tertiary Extinction: 65 Million Years Ago.
//Scientists estimate that if the current exploitation of resources persist, even the 21’st century
could witness a mass extinction.

ll the representatives of the countries under the UN in the Earth Summit 2021 have come to a
resolution, and came to a resolution concerning : 1)Understanding the need of conserving rich
biodiversity of the Earth. 2)Feel the need to promote social awareness amongst people. 3) Aims
to achieve a more diversified energy mix with larger shares for renewable energy 4)Promoting
sustainable livelihood alternatives to empower communities. 5)Securing the long-term
provisions of an ideal eco-system
