“The work has started. The entire road will be built using concrete and all the culverts, hume pipe drains, small and big bridges
will be rebuilt,” said YA Patil, the executive engineer.
The 7.7km road from Manmad to Panewadi will have four lanes, while the 13.6km stretch from Panewadi to Nandgaon will have
two lanes. The four-laning will help in the easier and safer movement of the petroleum vehicles from the depots of the three
petroleum companies. Moreover, a fresh 900m stretch will be laid avoiding the dangerous spots near the Hiswal village, the
officer added.

The entire exercise to widen the road will require an additional 62.1 hectare of land. About 60.9 hectare is already available,
and only 1.18 hectare will have to be acquired from private owners.
