Opening Activities/Warm-up: (5 min)
Say assalaamu alaikum and start the lesson with the name of Allah.
Ask students: How are you? Encourage them to say, ‘Alhamdulillah’.
To warm up the class, Call out the students’ names randomly and ask various questions for their
introduction.

What eye colour do you?
Which game do you like to play?
Main Activities/Concept Building: (25 min)
Write the title of the lesson ‘Myself’ on the board.
Introduce yourself in front of the class. Tell them your name, age, gender, qualification, likes, dislikes and
interests.
Motivate students to introduce themselves and call students one by one and ask them to introduce
themselves. The introduction will be according to the following instructions:
First greet the classmates saying “assalaamu alaikum”.
My name is ____________.
I am in grade ___________.
I have ________brothers and_______ sisters.
My favourite game is _______________.
My favourite food is _______________.
I would like to be when I grow up: _________________
Ask students to open page 1. Let them complete the activity given on this page. Help them to complete the
activity.

Make pairs of students and ask them to take interview of each other by asking questions such as:

Ask students to open page 2 of General Knowledge of their book. Show the picture given on this page and
tell students that this is Saba. Saba is introducing herself by telling her name, age and her likes.
Tell students that Saba has a an older brother and his name is Saad.
Tell students how Saba and Saad are different from each others with respect to their likes and dislikes.
Read page 2 (first two paragraphs). Have student read page 2. Explain the content given on this page.

Summarize the key concept of today’s lesson.
Assessment: (7 min)
Ask students to complete activity given as ‘Work it Out’ on page 3. Help students to complete the activity.

Tell students what Saba likes and what Saad likes. For example, Saba likes to play with dolls and Saad likes
to play cricket. Tell them that they both have different interests, likes and dislikes. Simlilary, we all have
different likes and dislikes and different interests.
Also tell them good qualities in Saba and Saad.
Read page 2 (last paragraphs). Have student read page 2. Explain the content given on this page.

Assessment: (15 min)
Make pair of students and involve them to ask each others likes and dislikes. Have them complete the
activity given on page 4.

Tell students about some good qualities of humans and tell them why sould we have good qualities (telling
the truth; respecting elders and listening to their advice; getting up early in the morning etc.). Ask students
do they have these qualities. Encourage them to adopt these qualities.
Provide students worksheets of good qualities and ask them to think of their good qualities. Now, circle
those qualities which they have.
After completing this exercise tell students that we all have different qualities in ourselves and we should
try to adopt other good qualities as well for a good human being.
Have students complete part C, Q: 1-3 ‘My tasks’ page 4.
