bring their books and notebooks every day.

those qualities which they have.
After completing this exercise tell students that we all have different qualities in ourselves and we should
try to adopt other good qualities as well for a good human being.
Have students complete part C, Q: 1-3 ‘My tasks’ page 4.

Ask students about some good qualities of humans. Ask students do they have these qualities. Encourage
them to adopt these qualities.
Involve students in a fun activity given in ‘Let’s have Fun’ page 2. Make pair of students and ask them to
tell their good qualities to their friends. Have them come in front of the class and ask them to share their
and their partner’s qualities with their classmates.
Encourage students to speak while doing this activity. Give everyone a chance to speak.
After completing this exercise tell students that everyone has diffent qualities.
Have students complete parts A and B, Q: 1-3 ‘My tasks’ page 3 and 4.

parts. Ask them to observe his body parts carefully and name the parts of body.
Now ask students to point out their body parts and encourage them to name differnet parts of their body.
Read page 6 (Parts of body). Have student read page 6. Explain the content given on this page.

Now tell them we cannot see with our closing eyes. We can see things with our eyes similarly, every part of
our body have specific function.
Aks them to open page 6 and 7. Now ask them to look at pictures given on these pages and tell them the
functions of different body parts such as we write with our hands, we walk with our legs, etc.
Show students flashcards of functioning of different body parts.
Read page 6 and 7 (Functions of body parts). Have student read page 6 and 7. Explain the content given on
this page.

Tell students today will learn about five sense: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.
Tell them that we see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell with our nose, taste with our tongue and
touch with our hands.
Show students flashcard or wallchart of five sense for their better understanding.
Tell them today we will learn about the the sense of sight.
Tell them that sense of sight is used to see the colour and brightness of objects. It also tells about the
shape and size of objects.
Ask them different questions relevant to the sense of sight. For example ask them: can they read a book
with closing eyes? Can they tell the colour of an object with closing eyes. Practically involve them in these
activities to understand the sense of sight.
Read page 8 (Five senses and sight). Have student read page 8. Explain the content given on this page.

Tell students today they will learn about the sense of hearing.
Ask them to put hands on their ears. Now ask them can they hear voice.
Tell them that the sense of hearing helps us to recognize different voices such as louder and high sounds,
soft and low sounds.
Ask students whether louder sound is good to hear or soft sound is good to hear. Listen to their responses
and encourage them not to shout in classroom or anywhere else.
Show them the pictures given on page 8 relevant to sense of hearing. Tel them about loud and low sounds.
Give them different examples of sounds and ask them guess either these sounds are loud or soft or low.
For example birds chirping, drum beating and ambulance sound.
Read page 8 (Hearing). Have student read page 8. Explain the content given on this page.
Have students to do Question 3, Activity D ‘My tasks’ page 14.

Teaching & Learning Activities:
Opening Activities/Warm-up: (5 min)
Say assalaamu alaikum and start the lesson with the name of Allah.
Ask students: How are you? Encourage them to say, ‘Alhamdulillah’.
Ask students about the sense of hearing.

Main Activities/Concept Building: (25 min)


Write the title of the lesson ‘My body’ on the board.
Tell students today they will learn about the sense of smell.
Ask them how can they smell anything or which body part is used to smell things.
Tell them that we can smell pleasant and unpleasant smell with the help of nose. Provide them a flower or
perfume, ask them to smell it and describe its smell.
Now ask them to differentiate between senses of sight, hearing and smell through examples. Ask questions
related to these senses.
Read page 9 (smell). Have student read page 9. Explain the content given on this page.
Have students to do Question 2, Activity D ‘My tasks’ page 14.

Sum-up: (3 min)
Summarize the key concept of today’s lesson.
Assessment: (5 min)
Ask students how can you differentiate between pleasant and unpleasant smells.
Homework: (2 min)
Complete worksheet (Sense of smell).

different things.
Provide students with different eatables such as chips, juice, oranges, candies, etc. Ask them to taste these
things and tell their tastes.
Read page 9 (taste). Have student read page 9. Explain the content given on this page.

Sum-up: (3 min)
Summarize the key concept of today’s lesson.
Assessment: (5 min)
Ask students to complete activity B (True/false) given on page 13.
Homework: (2 min)
Complete worksheet (Sense of taste).

Demonstrate the texture of different things by touching them so that students can understand the sense of
touch. For this activity bring different objects in classroom such as a brick, sponge, tomato, cotton, bark,
etc. Describe the textures of these things by touching them.
Now ask students to touch these things and describe their textures as soft, hard, smooth, rough, etc.
Show students pictures related to sense of touch on page 10 and describe textures of different objects.
Read page 10 (Touch). Have student read page 10. Explain the content given on this page.
Complete activity A (Choose the correct option) given on page 12.
Have students to do Question 4, Activity D ‘My tasks’ page 14.
