Is music genius and social skill related?

In music history is very common to find outstanding musicians that, with their genius and
music skills, contributed to take music to another level, creating new forms of
understanding and performing music.
Although, these music skills don`t guarantee that these musicians have a high level of
social skills. In resume, a high level of music skills is not necessarily related to a high level
of social skills, something that goes the opposite way of the common sense. A good
example of this is the jazz musician Miles Davis.
Without a doubt, Davis was a very influent musician that has been important not only for
the inspiration and influence of jazz musicians but also to the development of the popular
music in general. He was present in many important changes in popular music, not only in
the way of thinking music but also in the sound itself.
The documentary “Birth of the cool”, available at Netflix movie platform, shows many
moments in popular music history that Davis was present as a leading figure, such as the
beginning of Bebop, the Cool Jazz, and the Jazz Rock in the beginning of the 70`s. Still at
the end of his career, you could see him in a vanguard scene working with electronic music
and hip hop.
Nevertheless, this huge ability and sensibility in music did not found a similarity in his way
of life. He had a terrible mood, usually treating people badly and being involved many
times in domestic violence with his wives and friends. In addition, he`s got many problems
with drugs and alcohol addiction, what led to many problems within people who was close
to him and to his music performance.
In conclusion, on the contrary as usually everybody expects, music genius is not
necessarily related to a high level of social skill. Or maybe we could say that it is related
but in a opposite way.
