GE-50300-A R1234yf A/C Machine Software Update Installation Procedure (Read completely before beginning)

Select or create a destination folder on a desktop or laptop computer and download the update .zip file using the Service
Workbench selection of "Essential Tools - Software Updates" in GM Global Connect. Un-zip the files into that folder.
These 3 folders (u, r, i) and 4 files will then show in the folder you selected:

Insert a 4GB or higher capacity SD card into the computer in preparation for copying the 3 folders and 4 files onto the SD
card. The card should be formatted and have no other files on it. Copy the u, r, i folders and the 4 files individually to the
SD card. Do not copy to the SD card the destination folder you selected on the computer that contains the update folders
and update files, and do not create a new file folder on the SD card.

Power the GE-50300-A A/C machine “Off”. The programming slot for the SD card is under the smaller flap at the top right
side of the machine. (This update applies to GE-50300-A Machines. Non -A machines are not updateable)

Insert the SD card in the slot with label side up. Press the card in so it fully seats. Note it will toggle in and out of full
seating each time you press on it and must be fully seated for the update.

Power the machine “On”. Wait for the programming screen to appear. Press “1”.

The “Start Installation” screen appears. Press “OK”. The “Logo Update” appears but do not update. Press “ESC”
(Escape) to skip.

Update progress screen will appear. Press “OK” to acknowledge.

When the screen below appears, the machine update is complete. Press “ESC” to exit programming mode.

The new programming will load and the machine will reboot to the main menu and is now ready for operation. Remove
SD card.

Performing the update changes the file structure on the SD card so if you have more than one GE-50300-A
R1234yf A/C Machine the files on the SD card must be erased and downloaded again from your computer and the
above procedure followed for the other machine.
