Terry Palin, who lives in New York
City, decided to visit his sister for
a weekend. He had a one-year-old
dog named Mollie, but he didn’t
want to take Mollie with him. So,
he asked a friend to stay with her.
Terry went away, and took the train
to see his sister.
After a day, Mollie went missing. Terry
got a phone call from his friend, who
was very worried. Then, the next
day, the police called Terry. They had
Mollie. She was at an airport in New
York! This is what happened.
Mollie was very unhappy that Terry
went away, so she ran out of the
house. She got on a train (without
buying a ticket), and traveled all
the way to one of New York’s
big subway stations. Next, she
got on the subway, and went to
the airport.
Mollie’s journey was 35 miles,
and took about two hours. When
she got to the airport, Mollie
waited until someone saw her and
checked her name.
Terry doesn’t know why Mollie
went on her big journey. But next
time, he will take Mollie with him to
see his sister.
