The 2 examples of businesses that act compliance with PDPA are Adidas and Samsung.
Adidas is a corporation that manufactures athletic shoes and sporting goods. It is a large
organization.
Samsung is a corporation that produces electronic devices such as digital media devices and it
is also a large organization.

2.2 Yur favorite business that might be your future career.


Is it affected by PDPA? Why or why not?

We have chosen online shopping platforms such as Lazada that could be our future career.
They require the collection of personal data in order to fulfill their services such as delivery
information.
This means they collect personal data that directly and indirectly enables the identification of a
person. The collected data must be beneficial and necessary for the services (e.g. first name,
last name, identification card number, address, contact number, e-mail address, and usage
history etc.) You are able to review and amend your personal data any time.

How can you identify and collect the data?


There are 7 ways to identify and collect the data:
1. Surveys.

Surveys are physical or digital questionnaires that gather both qualitative and quantitative data
from subjects.

2. Transactional Tracking

Each time your customers make a purchase, tracking that data can allow you to make decisions
about targeted marketing efforts and understand your customer base better.

3. Interviews and Focus Groups

Interviews and focus groups consist of talking to subjects face-to-face about a specific topic or
issue.

4. Observation

Observing people interacting with your website or product can be useful for data collection
because of the candor it offers.

5. Online Tracking
To gather behavioral data, you can implement pixels and cookies. These are both tools that
track users’ online behavior across websites and provide insight into what content they’re
interested in.

6. Forms

Online forms are beneficial for gathering qualitative data about users, specifically demographic
data or contact information.

7. Social Media Monitoring

Monitoring your company’s social media channels for follower engagement is an accessible way
to track data about your audience’s interests and motivations.
