PART (A) WRITE ANY 10 TOOLS WITH DESCRIPTION WHICH WE USE IN MS WORD?

MS WORD:
Microscope Word or MS Word is a graphical word processing program that user can type
with. It is made by the computer company microscope. Its purpose is to allow user to type
and save document as easily as possible.

TOOLS:
It has different tools which help user to
complete their document easily.

1. SMART ART:
The smart art present in insert tab. It is the
most fantastic way of creating diagram in an
attractive way. You can also type your text
in the relative diagram. It has many option
for diagram for example charts, list, pyramids, cycle, process etc. this is the short way for
any processing diagram. With a bit of formatting you have a great way to spruce up your
text.

2. TABLE FORMATTING
The table formatting tool, after creating a table, click on it and the table tools ribbon should
be available on top of it. This is very useful feature which also saves our time. Her, you have
to chance the colors of many of the cells with ease, helping to segregate and emphasis the
numbers that you think are most important. This makes the tables are lot more visually
appealing and therefore a lot more likely to be learnt. You can also make the custom themes
which you can use in future.

3. MAIL MERGE
Mail merge is a hardly feature which incorporates data from both microscope excel and
microscope word. The main function of mail merge is to allow us to create multiples
document at once saving you the time and effort of retyping the same letter over and over.
Most major word processing packages are capable of performing a mail merge.

4. INDEX
An index is a method to track the performance of a group of assets in a standardized way.
Indexes typically measure the performance of a basket of securities intended to replicate a
certain area of the market. An index helps readers to navigate long documents and locate
specific information they may need. It is based on specific terms and topics, making it more
detailed reference to the information in the document.

5. INDEX BROWSER:
This is the unique feature of word that can change the way of your looking of your
document. This feature is called the object browser that allow you to browse through all
object in your project and see their properties and event. You can easily display online help
as you browse. You can use the object browser to find and use object that you create, as
well as object from other applications.

6. THESAURUS:
The thesaurus is a software tool. Which is used in microscope word to find out the also used
for someone creating a business name or registration a domain.

7. TABLES:
This tool is present in insert. It consists of row and columns. They are used to organize and
present information but hey have a variety of other uses as well. You can use tables to align
numbers in columns, and then sort and perform calculations on them. You can also use
tables create interesting page layout.

8. BOOK MARK:
It is present in insert tabs. The book mark in MS word is just like the book mark you placed
in your books.it marks a place that you can easily find again. You can enter many book
marks in your document that give a unique name so they’re easy to identify.

9. HYPRELINK:
It is present in insert tab. Hyperlink is refers to the data that the user can follow by clicking.
It point to the whole document or simply a specific document. Hyperlink are usually found
in all the web pages, allowing users to click their way form page to page.it is the connection
between the web sites and pages.it is usually underline and of different color. Regular use of
hyperlink will improve your SEO and make life easier for your readers.

10. PAGE LAYOUT:

Page layout is the term used for describing the page of your document when it is printed.it
consists of margins, orientation, size of paper columns, and spacing of paragraph. It is simply
the arrangement of text, images, and other objects on a page. The goal of page layout is to
produce eye-catching pages that grab the attention of the reader.

The extreme increase in the use of computers has drastically changed the lives of many
people. Computers, as SHERRY TURKLE in "Who Am We" discussed, initially were used as
simple calculators, but through the years they have come to be valued as more than simple
machines
"The computer has gained new qualities, it is not only used as a calculator, but now it
entails simulation, navigation, and interaction"
With the increase in computer usage, comes new software that attracts people's attention
even more. Adults, adolescents and even children find themselves "losing track of time"
when they sit down and play on the computer for half an hour and suddenly realize that
thirty minutes has turned into a couple of hours.

The computer can serve many purposes, such as an aid for research, finishing homework
and even as a means for keeping in touch with loved ones, but it can also cause an individual
to get lost in the "virtual world." This topic sparked my interest when a close friend of mine
began to notice changes in her boyfriend's attitude. Her problems began when her
boyfriend bought a laptop computer. He had never had a computer before, so this was
something new and exciting for him. Within a couple of weeks my friend began to notice
changes in his attitude. Suddenly, she noticed he spent hours a day in front of a computer
screen. He was fascinated by the internet and the immense amount of resources it had to
offer. His free time no longer consisted of spending quality time with his friends and
significant other, rather he found browsing the web more fascinating and worthwhile. My
friend suddenly found herself competing against a machine for her boyfriend's attention.

My friend is not the only one who has experienced problems due to the amount of time her
boyfriend spends on the computer. My cousin also can spend hours a day playing computer
games and surfing the net. Interestingly enough, he denies spending so much time on the
computer. When confronted about the actual time he does spend on the computer, he
replies with a simple, "oh really, it didn’t seem that long."

At what point does using the computer become unhealthy? I have to admit, in this days an
old age you are pretty lost without a computer. I use my computer on a daily basis for e-
mail, research and even to shop online, but there is a limit. When an individual loses track of
time and does nothing else but use the computer, than this can be seen as a problem. Some
of the impacts computers have on people can be negative. When an individual becomes lost
in the "virtual world" like my friend's boyfriend and my cousin, it can cause them to lose
their identity and connection with the real world.

As SHERRY TURKLE suggested, "individuals are vulnerable to the virtual world and we must
learn to take responsibility for our actions" (456).

According to the Computer Addiction Services' site, Dr. MARESSA ORZACK, a licensed clinical

psychologist has treated many cases of computer addiction and believes that the problem is
just starting.

"Society is becoming more and more computer dependent not only for information, but for
fun and entertainment."

In the article "Computer Addiction is Comings On-Line," Dr. ORZACK gives a list of the signs
and symptoms that can diagnose an unhealthy dependency on the computer:

 Using the computer for pleasure, gratification, or relief from stress.

 Feeling irritable and out of control or depressed when not using it.
 Spending increasing amounts of time and money on hardware, software, magazines,
and computer-related activities.
 Neglecting work, school or family obligations.
 Lying about the amount of time spent on computer activities.
 Risking loss of career goals, educational objectives, and personal relationships.
 Failing at repeated efforts to control computer use.

I decided to explore the web in search of "why" people depended on the computer so much
for entertainment and games. What is so fascinating and entertaining about sitting in front
of a computer for hours at a time? I decided to enter a couple of chat rooms and examine
the type of conversations that were taking place. I went to America Online "People
Connection" and observed the array of chat rooms an individual could enter. I decided to
look under the category of "friends" and was surprised by the variety of rooms offered.
There were rooms titled "lonely," "bored," and "beach party" to name a few. I decided to go
in some of the rooms and probe the conversations that were going on.

In one of the rooms titled "twenties 1" many of the individuals were talking about their
children. The participants were asking each other how many children they had and how old
they were. One woman was commenting about the fact that she had just gotten home from
work and had signed on to the computer. As I was taking note of the conversations going on
in the room, I realized that the majority of their children were toddlers ranging from a
couple of months old to three years old. What was so amazing was the fact that it was only
six o'clock in the afternoon. Shouldn't these parents be spending quality time with their
children, instead of talking to a bunch of strangers? In other rooms, many of the participants
said they were "bored" and wanted to chat with someone.

I decided to enter another chat room, this time I entered the "bored room." The room was
pretty full with twenty-three participants, many of whom were not saying much. I decided
to ask the individuals in the room a question, "how much time do you guys spend on the
computer a day?" it took a while for someone to respond, but after a couple of minutes
someone responded. "I spend about 3-4 hours a day on the internet." My first thought was
"wow, how do you manage to find the opportunity to spend so much time on the internet?"
We continued to talk through the Instant Messenger service America Online has to offer. I
found out that this individual, who we will call George for confidentiality purposes, is
twenty-three years old and resides on the east coast.

He attends school part-time and the majority of the time he uses the computer in the
evenings, when he gets home from school. George mentioned more than once that he uses
the computer for entertainment and as a device to meet people. He said that many times he
loses track of time and spends hours in chat rooms talking to different people. When that
gets boring, he proceeds to play solitaire or other games that are available to him online
until it is time to go to bed, which is usually around two in the morning. This has become his

routine for a couple of years now. George said he began to use the computer a lot when he
moved to a new city and used it to keep in touch with his family and friends. The fact that he
did not know anyone at work and school, prompted him to spend all of his free time on the
computer. Without realizing it, I think George's fear of adapting to a new environment has
made him lose sense of reality and has forced him to live a "virtual life."

 ADVANTAGES:
There are some advantages of using computer which effect the
human behavior.

 If you are not good at studies, games and you need

someone who help you. So using a computer improve
your learning and other skills
 Millions of people have found the love of their lives on
the internet through online dating sites. Computer and
internet make it easier to connect with other people
around the world that are interested in same thing.
 When connected to the internet, computer can help you to make
money in different ways you can start a online job which is much better than a
physical job. There are many platform where you can work online
 Computer help keep you connected with long distance friends and family over e-mail
and social networking. You can also connect with millions of other people that share
the same interest as you through online forums, chat, and VoIP services, like skype.
 Knowing how to use a computer and having a computer can improve your
employment options and allow you to work from home, for example, in the 2020
COVID-19 outbreak many offices needed their employees to work from. Knowing
how to use a computer and having a computer at home allowed many office workers
to continue their work even during the crisis.
All these advantages of computer having effect on human behavior getting online job, having good
skills, good in studies, interaction with people.

 DISADVANTAGES:
Computer having disadvantages on human behavior

 Computer requires a lot of repetitive movement that often leads to carpal tunnel
syndrome. For example, moving your hand form your keyboard to a mouse and
typing are all repetitive and can cause injuries. Taking breaks, keeping the proper
posture, and computer ergonomics can all help prevent or delay these injuries.
 With computer storing so much personal information, it’s at risk of getting into the
hands of others. Once a malicious person has your information, they could access
your online accounts or use identity theft to open other accounts, such as a new
credit card under your name.
 Too much of anything is bad and too much sitting for a long time and
becoming a mouse potato can lead to health problems. Substituting a

traditional desk for a standing desk is not a perfect solution. Studies show
that standing for long periods of time is not healthy, but is better than
sitting. The best solution is to take frequent breaks to move around,
stretch, and exercise.
 As computer become smarter and more capable, they also replace the need for
many jobs. In the future, it is also not inconceivable that computer can carry out any
job.
 Social networks can also be an escape from the real world by socializing with friends
and family over social networks. Like Facebook.

“ Computers are effecting in our daily routine

Computer and its uses grew rapidly though out the world. They deal with many
tasks.it help to resolve the problems in human daily life therefore they have great
influence in our life. The impact of computer usage on our life obviously identified as
saving of money, time and effort.

1. COMPUTER AND HUMAN LIFE CORRELATED WITH

COMMUNICATION

Computer can bring people closer together and facilitate contacts between them using
Email, Chatting, Videoconferencing, Mobile phones and social media. It saves time, efforts
and money compared with letter used, before making influence of computer in human life.
These days, we seldom use hand written letters, put in the envelopes and transport over
long distance because most of us have computer and education to make use of it.
Computer connected with internet has ability to publish ideas, thoughts, criticism etc.
instantly across the world. Social networking sites like, Facebook, Twitter, blogger, You
tube, whatsapp etc opens another sophisticated yet easy to use viral communication, reveals
the importance of computer and human life. If it is not exaggerated, our younger generation
has become addicted to use these modern tools. A majority of college students cannot have
a day without login to at least one social networking site.

2. INFLUENCE OF COMPUTER IN EDUCATION

No doubt! Computer has made massive makeover in education field. Three decades ago, if
anyone has a doubt to be clarified in a learning process, finding right expert itself was a
cumbersome task and there may not be available further opinion about the subject.
Although the different clarification or solution are available on the other side of the world,
we were unable to know its whereabouts because lack of communication. In this modern
world, our "Guru" as all we know is "Google search" being evolved as Human Assist
adopting Artificial Intelligence (the latest trends in Computer application).

In education sector, teaching and learning reached new highs after started using computers
in our life. We can find answers virtually on any subjects in a moment, and can
communicate this information to number of ways in real time. Needless to say, we can see

every educational institution has interaction of students with computers and most of them
are equipped with smart class rooms.

The invention of tablet computer made smooth transition to student with computer from
heavy bags carrying books and other learning
accessories.

3. INFLUENCE OF COMPUTER IN
UTILITY FACILITIES

Computer also facilitate comfort to our life and provides

convenience. For transportation. It facilitate the way
people travel. Airways, Roadways and waterways uses
computers to control their operation. It saves time and
relieve severity of traveling difficulties.

GPS and map application permits us to go virtually anywhere in the world without fear and
deviation. If we straggled in a city or desolated place, these technology help us reaching exactly
where we want to be. Google map capable to predict time required traffic conditions, traffic block,
weather status and sometimes, giving vital advices and alerts about the roads and destinations we
are travelling.
