THE BLACK DAHLIA (2006)

The film “The Black Dahlia” is an authentic “whodunnit” if you love this kind of
movie, but not only because of the enigma of this film, but also, because this crime has
gone through past the screen to take place in our reality. That is to say that “The Black
Dahlia” is inspired in by a real murder which took place in the 1940’s in Los Angeles.

To begin with, the film starts telling us about the life of a policeman called Dwight, and
his best friend and partner Lee. They have a great life together as cops since they work
solving all kinds of mysteries and they are there for each other through thick and thin.
But the “happy ever after” life ends when suddenly a woman called Elisabeth Short
appears mutilated and carved up in the middle of a camp with a cut in her mouth from
ear to ear.

This event becomes greatly mediatic since she was brutally killed, and no one has any
clue about who was the possible murderer was. Lee begins to feel mad at this case,
obsessed with the idea of finding the killer. Otherwise, Dwight realizes that this crime
hides a darker background in which he gets involved in.

In our realityreal life, the murderer of Elisabeth Short was never found. Nevertheless, in
the film a possible killer is given who is going to shock whoever sees “The Black
Dahlia”.

Dear Isabel,

Generally, a good piece of writing, well-chosen vocabulary and a couple of excellent

expressions. Well done!
