CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid extracted from the hemp or marijuana plant. CBD is one of
the more popular elements of marijuana, along with THC. These chemicals affect the brain when
they enter the bloodstream, however, THC makes people high, while CBD doesn’t. CBD makes
people feel more relaxed and calm. CBD products have become a common helper all over the world.
They come in many different forms including; oils, ointments, soaps and even gummy sweets,
chocolate and pet treats.
CBD is used popularly for managing autism, but specifically the insomnia, anxiety and seizures that
autism causes. By managing these symptoms, it can cause better sleep and decrease anxiety, which
can reduce a child’s aggressive behavior. Preventing seizures helps make it easier to interact socially.
Decreasing anxiety makes it easier to develop skills, learn and be social.
According to a study in 2019, 14% of Americans use CBD to hemp manages anxiety, stress, pain and
insomnia. Because of the lack of research done on cannabis, specifically for children’s use, it’s
difficult to find concrete evidence on its effects and safety for kids.
So, we turned to Facebook and discovered groups of parents who give their children CBD to cope
with conditions like autism and ADHA (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). In 2020, a cannabis
magazine wrote about a survey of 500 parents with children on the autism spectrum or with ADHA.
Of those parents 40% had used CBD to help their kids.
Limited controlled research is available for CBD in the use of children, but there is one
approved drug with CBD as the main ingredient. It is used to treat epilepsy in children. The make-up
of the drug can help with other ailments like anxiety, autism and other categories of seizures. The
results to this drug look promising, but more controlled research needs to be done to solidify it.
The amount of research that is being put into CBD for kids is increasing. So far, science says it’s safe
for children. Not only that, but it can also help manage serious conditions like epilepsy, autism,
anxiety, stress, hyperactivity, and insomnia. But there is still more research that is being done to test
the extensiveness of these claims.
CBD is safe for children, but it’s important to make sure the CBD you are giving them doesn’t contain
any traces of THC. Therefore to ensure your children’s safety, it is best to opt for CBD products made
of pure CBD isolate or broad-spectrum CBD oils. These contain 0% THC. And it’s better to avoid full-
spectrum CBD oil. It is still considered safe for children and contains less than 0,3% THC. This is very
low, but large quantities may cause problems.
CBD oils are infused with carrier oil. Carrier oils are used to help with absorption CBD and they make
dosing easier. Carrier oils are usually made from oils that have a fast absorption rate Because the oil
has to go through the stomach and liver, it takes longer to enter the bloodstream, a fast-absorbing
oil helps with this and ensures a uniform and steady release into the blood. MCT oil is the fastest
absorbing oil, making it a great and common carrier in children’s CBD oil.
The adding a carrier oil also makes the product easier to dose. Common tools don’t easily measure
5mg of CBD, so we add a carrier oil to easily take the correct amount. The higher the dose of CBD per
bottle, the more CBD in each drop of the oil. Since kids require such small amounts, it’s best to stay
under 600ml per 30ml container.
CBD Oil Dosage for Kids
Many factors determine the dosage when it comes to CBD oil for children, specifically your weight,
tolerance and the potency of the product you are using. To determine the CBD content per drop in
CBD oil, divide the product’s CBD mg by 600 drops (for 30ml). So, a 300mg CBD oil in a 30ml bottle
will have 0,5mg CBD per drop.
After determining the weight of your child, you can calculate how many mg or drops your child
should take daily. Remember that the maximum dosage per day for an adult is 20mg. It’s great to
test the oil before giving it to your child, this way you can understand the different dosages effects.
Is CBD Safe for Kids?
Generally speaking, yes. CBD can be safe for kids but only if it is CBD isolate. There
is one distinct difference in CBD isolate, which is that it doesn’t contain any
percentage of THC. THC is the part of the marijuana plant that essentially causes a
person to get high, while natural, pure CBD doesn’t have that effect at all.
There isn’t that much research into using CBD oil for children, but some parents
have been using it to help their children. Some of the main usages are CBD oil for
kids with anxiety, ADHD, or seizures. Although the long-term risks aren’t yet
identified, it does seem that more parents are willing to use it, since it does help.
A lot of parents have come out to say that using CBD oil for ADHD can help with reducing
or even stopping their regular ADHD medication entirely. Since it’s an all-natural oil, a lot of
parents prefer it over the use of other medications.
Other Benefits of CBD for Kids
Like any CBD product, there are always benefits linked to it. In recent years a lot of people
have started using CBD for medical purposes since it is seen as a natural reliever.
ANXIETY
Anxiety is a typical case that a lot of parents are concerned about. CBD has been shown by a
study to help with anxiety in kids. It can also be an alternative or an addition to regular anti-
anxiety medication.
EPILEPSY
There is evidence that proves that the first CBD medicine approved by the U.S food and drug
administration, Epidiolex can help curb a form of epilepsy. It is seen as one of the best
natural remedies for epilepsy, as other medications can carry tons of possible mental and
physical side effects.
One of the more common reasons CBD is used is for pain and inflammation. The best part is
that you don’t need a big dosage when used for pain and inflammation. It can be used for any
sort of pain, even for mild injuries like a sprained ankle.
CBD products are safe but they can have a bad effect depending on some of the medication
that a child is already taking
Since using CBD oils for children is still a fairly new topic, there is a concern about what is
the right dosage
To constantly use CBD can be an expensive process. The products aren’t at all cheap and
could be pricey if used regularly
Some benefits and possible risks still lack scientific research
A child can’t overdose when using pure CBD. Sub-standard or non-pure CBD oil can affect
your child negatively. It is important to discuss the usage of CBD oils for children with a
doctor and only to buy from a trustworthy provider.

Although CBD oil has so many benefits and could help your child with several possible
health issues, the decision is always going to land on the parents.
But for any parents looking for an all-natural remedy to their child’s issues, CBD could be
the way to go.
You’ve read about the rise of CBD products and their benefits in adults but can those benefits be the
same for children? Maybe your child has a critical affliction and you’ve already tried everything. You
may be a little bit anxious about implementing CBD into your child’s daily routine because you don’t
want them to become addicted.
It is important to note that Cannabidiol (CBD) is not to be confused with the component
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Yes, they are both cannabinoids found in medical marijuana but they
function differently.
THC is the primary psychoactive component of the cannabis plant. This is the element responsible
for the “high” associated with marijuana. CBD does not have this compound and is considered non-
psychoactive. As long as the chosen product for your child has a THC level of below 0.3, your child
will be fine.
Research in recent years has indicated that children can safely take daily doses of CBD oil, from up to
20 milligrams per kilogram of their body weight. The negative side effects reported from CBD oil for
kids are uncommon, even in high doses.
There are an overwhelming amount of positive testimonials from families who have introduced CBD
oil into their daily routines. Even though research continues to investigate the effects of CBD, there
are already a wide variety of physical and mental ailments that it can help with.
Here are some of the ailments that CBD in kids has positively affected.

This is one of the most popular reasons why parents consider implementing CBD.
Many kids suffer from overstimulation throughout the day, that it can be difficult for them to fall
asleep at night. Without adequate sleep, your kid could become agitated. CBD in kids does work like
a sedative. It merely slows and shuts off hyperactivity in the brain and your child can fall asleep
naturally.
CBD Oil for Kids with Anxiety
When it comes to CBD Oil and the anxiety relief it provides to adults, the reviews are positive. Can
the same be said for your child? And how does it work exactly?
Well, the compound works by increasing the activity of neurotransmitters in the brain tasked with
reducing hyperactivity in the nervous system. This benefits kids with anxiety in that the CBD will help
stabilize their mood and reduce their anxiety.
Tip: Africanpure offers a CBD oil for children’s anxiety that does exactly that. Click here for pricing.
Autism is usually detected in the early development of a child. Unfortunately, there aren’t any
known cures or treatments for Autism. However, CBD oil for kids with autism has been reported to
alleviate and manage their symptoms such as stress, aggression, self-injurious behaviours and social
anxieties.
For many parents with kids on the spectrum, their reviews of implementing CBD oil has been a
positive experience. Click here to find out where to buy CBD oils for Autism.
CBD Oil can be helping a number of skin conditions in kids, such as:
Eczema
Sunburn
Bug bites
Rashes
The use of CBD internally can also be beneficial for supporting underlying causes for these skin
disorders, as they often stem from the gut, liver or immune system. However, CBD Topical creams
and other CBD Skincare products can be more useful for addressing surface-level skin problems.
Tip: Elixinol has a wide range of CBD Topical creams and products. Click here for pricing.
Parents who have children with ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD (attention deficit and
hyperactivity disorder) know that the part of their brain that maintains focus is highly
overstimulated. This, in turn, has them unable to concentrate or sit still for long periods of time.
Although there aren’t enough studies to confirm that CBD oil helps treat ADD or ADHD. There are a
number of anecdotal reports from parents that confirm CBD oil has helped their kids become calmer
or has helped with their restlessness.
Note: Doses of CBD oil for ADHD kids need to be carefully administered. Incorrect doses can cause
increased stimulation. Click here for flavoured CBD Oils for prices.
These are a tasty treat for any kid. They taste just like candy and you can even half the dose of one
gummy by simply cutting them into pieces. Be sure to store these out of reach of children between
monitored doses. Click here to find a range of gummies to choose from.
CBD Dosage for Kids
Most parents prefer to monitor their child’s intake of CBD in a way that they can easily control. The
most popular way parents choose to give their children their dose of CBD oil is the sublingual
method. This method involves placing a few CBD oil drops beneath your kid’s tongue. This is the
fastest way for CBD to enter the bloodstream so that your child can reap the rewards as quickly as
possible.
Unfortunately, children sometimes don’t enjoy the taste of CBD oil, which can make administering it
quite challenging. Should this be the case for you, it’s advised to mix it in their favourite food or
drink.
Although CBD oil is fairly new, it’s safe to say that for most children the benefits are easy to notice.
It’s a great natural alternative that won’t disrupt their growing brain due to the high levels of CBD.
Although you might be excited to start today, we recommend first checking in with your child’s
physician before adding CBD into your kids routine.
CBN oil vs. CBD oil
Many people confuse CBN and CBD — it’s hard to keep track of all those similar acronyms. That said,
there are a few key differences between CBN and CBD.
The first difference is that we know way more about CBD. While research on the benefits of CBD is
still in its infancy, it has been studied far more than CBN.
You might also notice that CBN oil is harder to find than CBD oil. Because the latter is more well-
known and well-studied, there are plenty of companies that produce CBD. CBN is less accessible (at
least for now).
Companies that sell CBN oil often market it as a sleep aid, and indeed, there is some anecdotal
evidence that CBN could be a sedative.
Many people use CBN to help them sleep, but there’s very little scientific research to suggest it can
really help.
There’s only one (pretty old) study that suggests CBN is a sedative. Published in 1975,
this studyTrusted Source only looked at 5 subjects and only tested CBN in conjunction with
tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. THC may be responsible
for the sedative effects.
One reason why people may have made the connection between CBN and sleep is because CBN is
more prominent in old cannabis flower.
After being exposed to air for long periods of time, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) turns into
CBN. Anecdotal evidence suggests that aged cannabis tends to make people sleepy, which could
explain why some people associated CBN with more sedating effects.
However, we don’t know for sure if CBN is the cause, so if you find that an aged bag of long-
forgotten cannabis makes you sleepy, it could be because of other factors.
In short, very little is known about CBN and how it might impact sleep.
Other effects
Again, it’s worth noting that CBN hasn’t been well-researched. While some studies on CBN are
certainly very promising, none of them definitively prove that CBN has health benefits — or what
those health benefits might be.
With that in mind, here’s what the limited amount of available research says:
CBN might be able to relieve pain. A 2019 studyTrusted Source found that CBN relieved pain
in rats. It concluded that CBN might be able to soothe pain in people with conditions
like fibromyalgia.
Further research might be able to verify the benefits of CBN. Research in humans is especially
needed.
CBD is known to interact with certain medications, especially medications that come with a
“grapefruit warning.” However, we don’t know whether this applies to CBN.
Still, it’s best to err on the side of caution and talk to your healthcare provider before trying CBN oil if
you take any of the following:
anticancer medications
antihistamines
blood thinners
cholesterol medications
corticosteroids
immunosuppressants
pain medications
prostate medications
Is it totally safe?
There are no known side effects of CBN, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. CBN simply hasn’t
been studied enough to know.
Pregnant and breastfeeding people as well as children should avoid CBN until we know that it’s safe
for them to use.
Regardless of your health status, it’s always a good idea to speak to your healthcare provider before
trying any supplement, including CBN oil.
Choosing a product
CBN oil is often mixed with CBD oil in a single product. It usually comes in a glass bottle with a small
dropper attached to the inside of the lid.
As with CBD products, CBN products aren’t regulated by the FDA. This means that any person or
company could hypothetically produce CBD or CBN — they wouldn’t need specific permission to do
so, and they wouldn’t need their products to be tested before selling them.
Opt for CBN products that are tested by a third-party lab. This lab report, or certificate of analysis,
should be readily available to you. The test should confirm the cannabinoid make-up of the product.
It might also include a test for heavy metals, mold, and pesticides.
Always choose products made by reputable companies, and don’t hesitate to contact companies for
more information about their process or to request their certificate of analysis.
While CBN is becoming increasingly popular, there’s very little research around its exact benefits,
including its potential use as a sleep aid.
If you want to give it a try, make sure to do your research and buy from reputable companies.
What does CBN and CBG do?
Inside this amazing hemp plant exists hundreds of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Each has
a unique and special influence on the human body, and each one of these is essential to delivering a
fully comprehensive approach to well-being and homeostasis.
Independent studies have clearly and categorically shown that these compounds could have a wide
range of uses both in isolation and in combination. However, not all cannabinoids exist in the same
ratios. While CBD makes up the majority of hemp’s chemical structure, cannabinoids such as CBN
and CBG are far more challenging to isolate in standardised concentrations.
To meet this task head-on, Cibdol have invested extensively in the facilities at their Swiss-based
laboratory. Their uncompromised dedication to state-of-the-art processing, extraction, purification,
and filtration has culminated in a unique and tailored experience. Customers in South Africa are now
able to access the selection of cannabinoids that best suits their needs, without compromising on
quality or safety.
Ready to try CBN or CBG oils for yourself? Cibdol CBG oils, supported by our golden-grade CBD
extract, come in a range of concentrations. You’ll find CBD Oil in 2.5% and 5% variations, for people
seeking a streamlined, highly concentrated experience.
Our CBN oils are also available in 2.5% and 5% concentrations, and held to the incredibly high
standards you’ve come to expect from Cibdol. Additionally, all products undergo rigorous quality
control and third-party testing, with results published publicly on our Cibdol’s dedicated CBD
Analysis page.
