Trainer/Supervisor - worksheet

Emission
The purpose of this exercise is to get familiar with the aftertreatment system. After
performing this exercise the student will be familiar with the components and component
locations.

Time required: 20 min

Preparations: - min
Reset time: - min

Material/equipment required for prepare/carry out exercise

 A vehicle/machine with a modern type of aftertreatment system is required for this
exercise.

Preparations
 Get familiar with the aftertreatment system of your training engine.

The correct values below are valid only for D13K. In case you are using another
training engine for these exercises then you need to use correct values for the chosen
engine.

1. Open the service information of your training engine.

Find the correct torque values for the following components in the emission system:

- NOX sensor ________Nm 50 ± 10 Nm

- Filter cover AdBlue __________Nm 20+5 0 Nm

2. Go to the engine and identify the emission level of the engine by the engine labels.

- Note the emission level of the engine _________

3. Go to the engine and identify the main components of the system. Use the following
example illustrations to fill in your answers. In case you cannot find a corresponding
illustration of your system then you need to find a corresponding one in the service
information.
