In networked systems:
Setting the numbers with DIP switches
1. Initialise each housing with the desired number (1 to 14):
> Switch the Intercom Server off.
> Set the DIP switches 1 to 4 of the G3-GEM to “ON”.
> Switch the Intercom Server on (RUN-LED is blinking f
> Set the desired number (switch position see below),

ich Intercom Server housing must be advised a unique number (server ID).
Initialising the Intercom Server resets the configuration. Therefore, configured networks can not be
reached anymore.
2. Connect the computer to any housing and read out the configuration of the Intercom Server with the
configuration software CCT 800 (Menu Intercom Server > Receive). Now all cards are recognised
correctly and the Intercom Server can be configured as usual.

for the automatic configuration of the network).
4, In the column MAG - Address, the MAC address of the IP subscriber is shown.
5. in the drop-down fists Uplink and Downlink, select the Ethernet operation mode of the RJ45 ports.

Configuration of bandwidth usage
It is possible to configure the maximum bandwidth used in the network by the Intercom Server.
Configuration CCT 800
> IP - Settings > tab Extonded Settings
> Inthe drop-down list Bandwidth in kBit, select the bandwidth, which is used in the network by the
G3-GEM card for data and speech.
gf NOTE: Bandwidth
‘Tha overall bandwidth has always to be set higher as the data bandwidth. It is recommended to
select “unlimited”.
> Inthe drop-down list Data-Bandwidth in kBit, select the bandwidth, which is used for data packets
that leave the G3-GEM cards.
gf NOTE: Bendiwith
‘When the bandwidth is reduced, the packets leave the cards with a longer delay between them
(traffic shaping algorithm according to leaky bucket principle). This prevents @ “packet burst”, which
‘overflow at the router.
At bad Internet connection or missing QoS
> When transmitting speech via a data network, the Intercom Server performs a automatic jitter ad-
justment. At a bad Internet connection or missing QoS mechanisms, this can lead to a reduced
speech quality.
> Ifthe speech transmission at the start of conversations is faulty, the time in the drop-down list Jitter
Butfor Start Delay should be increased.
> If speech quality is not good during conversations, the checkbox No decrement of Jitter Buffer
should be activated. This prevents automatic readjusting of the jitter adjustment.
Configuration power management
By default, the Intercom Server GE 300 is powered with a 30 W power supply unit, whereby the number
of usable digital subscribers is limited. With using @ 60 W (with PRO 800 6.0 or higher) or 70 W power
supply unit, the number of usable digital subscribers can be increased,

System Overview
WS Video System - The Main Principle
Video data is linked at following states or actions:
> Conversations between stations
> Privacy calls
> Call Requests
> Input messages:
» For video link from 3rd party video cameras or stand-alone WS cameras
> Linking static JPEG images to TFT display modules
> Group-ringing
> Video scan sequences

IP Video (Signalling and Data Paths)
Video transmission in IP mode is done peer to peer.
Only the signalling information is routed via the Intercom Server.

> One WS camera can feed up to 8 WS TFT displays or other viewing sources like e.g. @ web
browser simultaneously.
Note:
Inorder tobe able to use & simultaneous IP streams from one WS camera, max. value
relevant data have to be observed so nave 24.
> Additionally itis also possible to configure video feeds from 3rd party IP cameras (as long as they
use the http based MJPEG format, see also pace 4) to be viewed on the WS series TFT display.

Analogue Video (Signalling and Data Paths)
Video transmission in analogue mode works either directly from one camer
‘monitor or by using an analogue video switch.
‘Same as with IP video, only the signalling information is routed via the Intercom Server.
The video switch typically has to be controlled by the Intercom Server using V24 interface.

Configuration Note
General configuration of the WS video modules is carried out via CCT 800 (see following pages).
But e.g. for stand-alone modules used as “external devices” (see pave 17) or used independently from
the Intercom system (se page 19}, itis also possible to configure the WS camera and WS TFT display
via its integrated web interface.
