The Solution Configurator is a configuration, validation and collaboration tool that provides the ability to
create and customize solutions through a unique online self-service portal that simplifies doing business
with Dell Technologies:
• Access all server, storage and networking configurations, as well as the most complex projects.
• Self-serve technically valid configurations without the involvement of the distributor.
• Faster quoting and aggressive prices when using our pre-configured solutions: Smart value Bundles
• Greater price transparency, list price visible on OSC
• Quicker quoting transactions with your distributors via the online collaboration feature.
• Best offers while leveraging the deal registration process.

Solutions Configurator – How to?
Click the button in each section to be directed to the relevant help slides. Click the Home button to return to the Main Page
Notes:
After logging into the portal, go to Sales
and Purchase, then click on Solutions
Configurator and click on “Launch Tool”.
Solutions Configurator is also available
in the Quick Links section on the home
page.

2 Create New Solution
Users have the option to either start from a new draft Provide Solution Name, Category and
or review the Preconfigured Templates End User Customer Type
1. Once you’ve
created a new
solution, click on All
Categories and select
Import from Sizer
*If you do not have access to Sizing tool, Distributor will be able to provider Json file from a sizer

select your JSON file

configuration, click on the
Configuration tab and
select the blue button

Note: The sizer tool does not select any software or services.
You must launch the configurator and make those selections
to complete the configuration

*A dell rep will choose their own SFDC deal ID if a registration number is not provided, and a partner cannot change that deal ID to the approved
registration after. Partner would need to reversion, attach registration, and then collaborate back for any negotiated pricing
Learn how to manage your collaborator email list and how to create/remove users within your Collaborator list.
To add new group click Add New Group, provide group name and
group description and add email addresses from your previously
created Collaboration List and click Save.
To edit Groups in
your list, click
Edit and then
remove users
from this group,
click Save.
To remove
existing group,
click Remove
and Yes to
confirm.

Once a solution has been shared at least once, the Quick Share
functionality is available.
Quick Share enables users to quickly share with the sales team
(incl Partner Users) that had access to the previous version of
the Solution. Therefore, clicking Quick Share on version 2 of a
solution will automatically share it with all the users on version 1.
Upgrade Capability
Ability to upgrade the solution with Service Tag or Serial Number

3. Leverage the WalkMe tip to learn more about when to use Serial Number or Service Tag
Note:
• Once the Serial Number or Service Tag is found
successfully ‘Success’ message will be displayed, and
you can go back to Solutions page
• Click ‘Apply as parent to added products’ for accurate
linkage of the asset
Partner Administrator is able to assign ‘Solution Configurator Company Access’ for Partner User(s) who needs of viewing entire Partner Company’s solutions, quotes
and/or orders pipeline (example: solutions listing, search, create quote, etc.). “Super User” have visibility and access to solutions and quotes that have been created
and collaborated by the Dell Sales team as well.
Benefits: Elevated User’s visibility across a User’s eligible Partner Program Tracks, when using OSC capability features.

Ability for Partner Administrator to assign multiple users' access via Manage User screen:

2 Choose the action you would like to perform from the drop-down (‘provide data access to selected users’)
Administrators are responsible for maintaining and updating the company profile (including relevant and up-to-date contact details). They are also
responsible for creating new users, assigning responsibilities, ensuring that users have proper access rights, and deactivating users who have been
terminated or reassigned Channel Partner personnel who have been granted access.
