CHAPTER 1
I. Title of the lesson
Supply Chain Management (SCM)

5
II. Introduction of the lesson

Supply Chain Management is a centralized management of the flow of goods and

services from sourcing raw materials to final products. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the
process of planning, implementing, and controlling the flow of goods and services from
suppliers to customers. SCM includes coordinating and integrating all activities associated with
the procurement of materials, manufacturing, logistics and distribution. It includes all processes
the management of a good or service's complete production process to improve quality,
delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability is known as supply chain management.

Supply Chain Management can help to reduce costs and manage the revenue or excess
of the company to make sure the materials and products are in stock when is needed to meet
the customer satisfaction and to maintain the good quality of the product. Marketers may see
how the relative goods/services mix of overall products using the goods and services
continuum. Products without any corresponding services are positioned at the end of the
continuum designated as pure products. Services that are completely unrelated to actual
products fall under the category of pure services.

III. Importance of the lesson

The importance of this lesson is helps business to achieve several business goals by
ensuring the good quality of the products to meet the demand of the customer and gain their
loyalty in the product. Another importance of the SCM has the power to boost the customer and
customers satisfaction to maintain the good quality product by following the process in SCM.
Overall, supply chain management gives businesses several chances to increase their profit
margins, and it is especially crucial for big corporate goals.

Supply Chain Management is important because it can help boosts customer’s service to
maintain the right and quantity of the product and it is important because it helps to control and
reduce the cost of the product. Additionally, it can enhance quality of the product it can help
achieve a variety of business goals. The supply chain will help to speed up the process of
manufacturing raw materials so that shipping to consumers is not delayed and be on time to
the customer that cannot cause sending back an order.

IV. Summary of the lesson

Supply Chain Management is a management from souring raw materials to final products

6
there are 5 most critical elements of SCM a developing strategy, sourcing raw materials,
production, distribution, and returns. There are also the 5 parts of SCM which are the planning,
sourcing, manufacturing, delivering, and returning. Beginning with planning the materials
needed in product to sourcing raw materials , the technique moves on to manufacturing and/or
distribution transform to final product and packaging of a product when business delivers
finished goods or product to a customer and when product delivered or product return to their
destination.

In good service continuum there 2 types of services the tangible and intangible the
difference between the two is the tangible we can touch like in a fast-food chain, the tangible is
the food they serve us. The intangible is what we cannot touch like they serve us. There are
some issues in Supply chain management material scarcity, increasing freight prices, difficult
demand forecasting, port congestion, changing consumer attitudes, digital transformation,
restructuring and the last is inflation.

V. Conclusion of the lesson

The conclusion is that supply chain management is an integral part of business operations,
and we can learn from others who are doing it well. If a company has no methods or plans for
managing its supply chains, then it will not be able to maintain market share and generate
revenue. Through proper understanding of the various supply chain practices out there today,
companies with little experience in the area can get ahead of other companies. It can increase
opportunities for improved profit and greater market share.

Supply Chain management is an effective combination of efforts by several people

working together within the organization to ensure that products arrive when expected and at
the right quality. The organized methods of production process, which supplies are produced
and delivered to the customer, at the right time and in proper condition. It can help to improve
the quality of the product to the customer satisfaction. A corporation won't be able to keep its
market share or make money if it has no strategies or plans for managing its supply chains.

Strategy and Design of Products and Services

II. Introduction of the lesson

A strategy describes how the ends goals will be achieved by the means resources and
can be intended or can emerge as a pattern of activity as the organization adapts to its
environment or competes. It involves activities like strategic planning and strategic thinking. A
strategy generally entails setting goals and priorities, choosing actions to achieve the goals,
and mobilizing resources to carry out the actions. The approach optimizes operations to cut
costs and increase revenues by taking into account every element of the supply chain, such as
sourcing items, shipping, and delivery.
A risk management framework is a collection of references and tools that decision-makers
use to make risk-management choices. It might comprise policies, strategies, goals,
procedures, and models. The process of conceiving, designing, and iterating products that
answer consumers' issues or address specific demands in a certain market is referred to as
product design. Understanding the end-user customer, or the person for whom the product is
being designed, is critical to successful product design.

III. Importance of the lesson

In creating a design is it important to have a strategy to meet the customer satisfaction. A

strategic mentality assists designers in developing a design strategy framework that adds to
better client interactions and user experiences, as well as aligning projects with business
outcomes. It is important to have strategy first before creating design to ensure the quality of
the product maintain in good quality and the cost not overprice to the customer and to meet the
customer wants in right amount and right time.

Product and service design is of strategic importance to enterprises. The design of a

product or service should be closely related to the strategy of the firm. It affects cost, quality,
time-to-market, customer happiness, and competitive advantage significantly. Strategy is
essential to the success and result of objectives and plans is the main plan to achieve the goal
of a business how will bring good and services to the customer to maintain the quality of the
product whether it will be popular with customers or will they enjoy the product.

IV. Summary of the lesson

A strategy is a comprehensive plan for accomplishing one or more long-term or overall

8
goals. A strategy or policy intended to attain a main or overarching aim. A supply chain plan
defines how a corporation will bring in commodities and send them to customers as effectively
as feasible. There are 4 competitive dimensions in an operation strategy the quality, cost,
flexibility, and delivery. A risk management framework is a set of references and tools that
decision-makers rely on to make decisions about how to manage risk there are 6 steps in risk
management framework categorize information systems, select security controls, implement
security controls, assess security controls, authorize information systems, monitor security
controls.
To fulfill changing client demand or to target certain customer segments, many organizations
generate a broad range of efficient and competitive concepts for their products and services.
Companies create and develop new ideas or models quickly to appeal to a wide range of
market segments. They also use innovative tactics and manufacturing processes to improve
the competitiveness and customer attractiveness of their products and services. Product
strategy defines the length or distance of a product line and links product decisions to
investment and cash flow, market share and dynamics, product life cycle, and the
competencies of the organization.
V. Conclusion of the lesson
The conclusion of the strategy is a general plan to achieve long-term goals in a business
it includes all process to creating a design in a product a strategy that effective in this
generation to meet the customer needs or satisfaction in the product and services. It includes
what strategy is good to be more popular with customers than other competitors how business
manage the risk why developing a strategy, how company maintain the good quality of the
product and how they minimize the costs in creating a design product.
The process of creating a product is complex, and there are many different stakeholders in
the organization that need to be involved. Creating a design strategy helps you plan out all your
stakeholders’ needs, expectations, and goals so that they align with the product vision. It is
important to understand that there is no single way of creating a strategy and every case will be
different. The key here is to find what works best for your brand and product. The main purpose
of this step is to make sure that all elements in the design are well-connected, consistent and
aligned with one another.

CHAPTER 3
I. Title of the lesson
Manufacturing

9
II. Introduction of the lesson

The supply chain enables the transfer of raw materials and their subsequent
transformation into finished items during the manufacturing process. Following that, the creator
distributes and sells the products straight to merchants or end users. Manufacturing is a unique
industry. A sector defined by the manufacturing and processing of products. Manufacturing
entails significant tasks such as planning, organizing, directing, and managing operations, as
well as inventive abilities based on collaborative work with consumers, suppliers, and partners.

Producing items, like every other stage in the supply chain, needs a large degree of
coordination, communication, and decision-making. When converting raw materials into ready-
to-use commodities, a healthy company is always encouraged to increase speed, improve
quality, and reduce costs. This is due to the organization's constant conversion of resources
into commodities. Manufacturing is all about how manufacturing processes are organized from
raw materials to formulation.

III. Importance of the lesson

The importance of manufacturing so that we can know the manufacturing process using
machinery or using hand while manufacturing the product from creation of production of goods
to final product. From project to continuous process of manufacturing organized to produce
goods in large quantities using machinery or using hand manufacturing. Another importance of
this lesson marketing efforts will result in a loss if the product's features are not matched with
the suitable marketing plan.

Marketing products and services have comparable strategic challenges. Some strategies
are applicable to marketing goods and services, but utilizing strategy is only one of several
techniques to acquiring a significant market share. Even though the strategic considerations
are identical, marketing products and services is separate since the features, marketing
identity, and client preferences for goods and services are diverse.
IV. Summary of the lesson

Manufacture is referring to make or produce in large quantities using machinery.

Manufacturing is the creation or production of goods with the help of equipment, labor and
machines. The manufacturing processes are organized project, work center job, manufacturing
cell, assembly line, continuous process. On one end of the spectrum, objects are made using

10
more traditional methods, such as by hand or with basic machinery and other process of
making materials.

The method is linked to the manufacture of traditional products via the principal media of
carpentry, metalworking, leatherworking, or textiles. Specialized machinery, on the other hand,
make large-scale production easier. The second technique requires fewer manual steps to be
completed. Manufacturing is the process of converting raw materials into completed items
while also adding value to the output. Under the manufacturing cell there are two types of
manufacturing the cellular manufacturing and manufacturing cells.
V. Conclusion of the lesson

The features of industrial processes and activities evolve with time. The type and volume
of labor required will be determined by the nature of the planned completed product. On one
end of the spectrum, objects are made using more traditional methods, such as by hand or with
basic machinery. The method is linked to the manufacture of traditional products via the
principal media of carpentry, metalworking, leatherworking, or textiles. Using a machinery or
using hand by manufacturing the materials of the product.

Specialized machinery, on the other hand, make large-scale production easier. The second
technique requires fewer manual steps to be completed. Manufacturing is the process of
converting raw materials into completed items while also adding value to the output. From a
project to continuous process of making a product in large quantities and maintain the good
quality and services of the product using a machinery and other equipment’s that need in
manufacturing.

CHAPTER 4
I. Title of the lesson
Nature of Services

11
II. Introduction of the lesson

Various areas, such as decision theory, operations management, computer programming,

and so on, define the term "process" differently by using different terminologies, but the
essential idea remains the same. All disciplines believe that a Process should be composed of
logical sub-processes that may be used to improve the process's effectiveness. SCM services
are critical to many companies and processes. As a result, understanding the service
processes in SCM is critical for a business.
Process should include the availability of relevant resources that may be used to improve
the process's effectiveness. It is optional for marketers to be aware of how material objects are
manufactured in the manufacturing industry; rather, the owners of the manufacturing unit must
be aware of this knowledge. Service processes are designed and processed sequentially in
service-centered management and people are all integrated into a unified flow that efficiently
delivers services to clients.

III. Importance of the lesson

Thus, customer service is the method via which the corporation receives feedback from
customers. It is critical to note that service operations do not stop when the consumer receives
the service. Service companies that consistently meet cost and quality targets understand the
importance of managing the whole process chain, not just the final step of customer delivery.

Customer service plays an important role in logistics and supply chain management.
Customers learn about the product and the company that sells it via customer service. While
some businesses feel that customer service and supply chains are unconnected, this is not the
case. The supply chain is not complete until the product reaches the customer.

IV. Summary of the lesson

Whether your company manufactures goods or provides services, the service process is
inextricably linked to the quality of the customer's experience with your company. It will either
result in pleased customers who will suggest your company to others and buy from you again,
or in disappointed customers. As a business owner or manager, you must maintain control over
the process of providing customer service.
The approach used by a corporation to provide the appropriate level of service to its clients
is referred to as the "service process." Managers will focus on defining the essential steps that
will contribute to the process—splitting the burden and distributing responsibility—to

12
standardize this in a manner compatible with the company's identity and objectives.

V. Conclusion of the lesson

When it comes to promoting and selling your products, one of the most important factors to
consider is how the services are delivered. The goal of this chapter is to emphasize that
regardless of how you contact or communicate with someone, we will continue to assist the
consumer. Because there are several ways to connect with customers, the emphasis of this
chapter is on emphasizing this idea.

It is critical to stress that service procedures are a continuous, cyclical system that begins
with customer-focused prioritizing and concludes with delivery. In the meantime, there is the
process of gathering information and action items from key stakeholders, as well as formulating
plans and procedures for implementing the new program or project.

Process Design and analysis
II. Introduction of the lesson

The development of a new method is typically considered as a quest for perfection. The
process engineer serves as a liaison between the physical science involved in the process and
management's economic perspective. The engineer then creates a system that gives ideal
performance while being economical to build, requiring low maintenance, and providing
maximum operator safety.
The series of actions that changes inputs into outputs is referred to as a process. The first
step in creating a high-quality process is to assess the current method to discover exactly what
needs to be done to obtain the desired results. The second stage is to describe each activity in
detail, including who does what and how. A flowchart may frequently help with this process.

III. Importance of the lesson

Process analysis and design are critical yet usually overlooked. The project's success and
efficient use of resources are dependent on the team's understanding of the activities required
to carry out the plan. A proper assessment of design-related risks and possibilities is also
critical since it will define the overall direction of the project. To guarantee a project's success,
consider the industrial environment, safety standards, customer service impact, and economic
implications of the design.

Process design and analysis are critical components of every successful project. As a
result, conducting a thorough examination of the manufacturing process is advantageous.
Efforts to improve the entire process for efficiency will pay off in the long run and help
enterprises preserve their competitive edge. Furthermore, realistic risk analysis can help to limit
the probability of costly design errors.

V. Conclusion of the lesson

The goal of process design and analysis is to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of
work processes. Methods for updating and developing new procedures can be found through
process analysis and design. Organizations may run successfully and cost-effectively with the
help of process design and analysis. They can appropriately identify safe approaches to attain
their goals and objectives while keeping both money and time restrictions in mind.
