SIEGE OF DURSAW
//V1// 2021
Val peered over the edge of the plastic slide out to the other end of the
open field. She wished her playground was bigger so that she would be
allowed to play anywhere her and her friends wanted to in the field. Her
mother had told her she wasn’t allowed to leave the mulchy floor of the
playground, to play with the kids who were out in the field.
Those kids, out beyond the supervision of the playground were free.
They had been assembling weapons from junk from the nearby
junkyard to play war! Val saw they even managed to make a tank with
some cardboard and a rubber-band potato gun. They had been using
this strange paper-like material from the junkyard to create their toy
weapons. It could stick to other things with a little bit of moisture, but
was easy to shape and handle as if it was paper.
Running free in the field, the children from Dursaw Village got to play
where Val wanted to play with her friends. They looked like they were
having so much fun, more fun than Val was having in the playground.
Playing war was not something Val had done before, but it looked like
fun. She studied the kids from Dursaw, saw how the rules worked and
how they made their weapons, and envied them.
On one rainy day, Val decided to go the village alone with only one goal
in mind: she must get her hands on this strange paper-like material.
Because no one was outside, she managed to sneak and steal a huge
sack of this material. With this amount, she’s confident that she can
start her own war game with her friends.
When she went home, she began to plan. She was smart for her age,
and her faithful butler was helping to create weapons like cannons, guns,
and even a tank! With pneumatics, 3D printers, and better resources,
Val and her friends would have so much advantage playing war in the
playground.
But after a while, the kids realized that the playground they had been
playing on wasn’t big enough. They needed more space to play, a place
like....the field.
Val would rally her friends behind the banner of the P.I.K Elite, and with
the toy weapons they had made they would fight the kids from Dursaw
and take the field for themselves.

DURSAW
WARRIORS
They are the kids who invented the game.
Using whatever they can scrape around
them and their bottomless imagination,
they build a lot of awesome stuff like tanks
and canons, something which other kids
can only see and play from their console
or smartphone.
P.I.K.
ELITE
Since these kids took an accidental peek
from the wall of their comfortable cul-
de-sac, they started somehow to have
this love-hate relationship with the game.
Fueled by jealousy, they left whatever
gadgets they have at home, and start
building their own tanks and canons to
destroy the Dursaw Warriors.
