John 3:16

God gave us his word that we might know him and walk in fellowship with him. (Show Bible) John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16. Have a child come up and read it out loud) Say: Have you ever loved so something so much that you did not want to share it or part with it. That is how God must have felt. Yet, he loved us so much that He gave the most important things to him so that we may have a home in heaven. Notice the word God. What do you think about when you hear someone use this word? Maybe you have heard someone use it when they were angry. How did it make you feel? God is powerful and holy. He is everywhere. No matter if it is dark, light, thundering, or lightening, God is there. He knows and sees everything that goes on in your life. Loved - this is a meaningful word. To love is to care very deeply for something or someone. When we love someone, we want what is best for them. We treat them nice and try not to hurt them. It is good to know that we have

people who love us as well. It would be sad if we felt no one loved us. God loves us! Look at the word believes. When we believe in someone, we trust them. We have faith in them. If we believe in God we will not perish. Perish is to die, or to take your last breath. We all know that someday we will die. So what does this mean that we will not perish? If we have believed in Jesus Christ and He lives in our heart we will not die forever, but will live with him in heaven someday. We will have eternal life. Eternal is endless, timeless, and never ends. Wont that be wonderful! GAME: Have two kids come up front and pass the bean bag back and forth as they say one word at a time of the verse. If they miss one word, they start over. Give them a chance if they make a mistake. The one who says an incorrect word, or leaves a word out, gives the beanbag to another child to take their place.
