Pineapple Keychain

Materials:

Hayfield Bonus Bright Lemon 0819 – 7g


Hayfield Bonus Emerald 0916 – Oddment for Leaves

Keychain
Hi-Loft Quality Toy Stuffing
3mm Crochet Hook
Wool Needle (for sewing)
Abbreviations:

ch – chain
dc – double crochet
inc – 2 stitches into next stitch
htr – half treble crochet
dec – decrease over next two stitches in front loops only
sl st – slip stitch
f/o – fasten off by slip stitch in next stitch
y/o – yarn over
cl – (y/o, pick up st) x3, y/o, take each stitch individually over last y/o to form single cluster
stitch

Note:

Unless stated work in continuous rounds marking last stitch of each row with a stitch
marker before proceeding with the next.

When stuffing parts make sure that you don’t overstuff them as you don’t want the stuffing
to show through when complete.
Each part should be filled just enough that it can be easily squeezed when pinched firmly.

Fruit:

Using Bright Lemon

Row 1: ch2, dc 6 into 2nd st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts into magic ring) (6)
Row 2: (dc and cl into same st) x6 (12)
Row 3: (dc into next st, inc) x6 (18)
Row 4: (dc into next st, cl into next st) x9 (18)
Row 5: dc (18)
Row 6: (dc into next st, cl into next st) x9 (18)
Row 7: dc (18)
Row 8: (dc into next st, cl into next st) x9 (18)
Row 9: dc (18)
Row 10: (cl into next st, dec) x6 (12)
Stuff fruit
Row 11: dec x6 (6)

F/O leaving a short end.

Leaves:

Using Emerald

Row 1: sl into any st on previous row, (ch4, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, htr into next 2ch, sl
st into base of st, sl st into next st) x6 (6 leaves)

F/O leaving a 30cm end.

Weave end through the base of every leaf using small running sts.
Pull tight and secure with a couple of small sts.
Then use small back sts to sew on the keychain through centre of leaves.
Weave end through fruit before cutting flush.
