Core Physics Grading Policy

Final Term Grade is calculated as:

Lecture exam #1 …………………………………. 20%
Lecture exam #2 ………………………………… 20%
Labs …………………………………………………. ...25%
Homework …………………………………… ...…5%
Final Exam …………………………………….. ……30%
Exams will have multiple choice question to assess conceptual understanding, reasoning and
numerical questions to assess students’ ability to apply Physics laws in physical problems.

When you drop a course, it will not appear on your transcript. When you withdraw from a
course, a grade of W appears on your transcript. A W grade does not count in your academic
index.

Your responsibility will be to come on time, participate both individually and on the team
activities, think critically, and show respect and concern toward all members of the class.

Attendance Policy:
Attendance is required as is arriving to class on-time. You are expected to be present and on-
time for every class session.
Labs Policy
The lab grade will be based on labs actually attended and lab reports submitted on time.
Students who missed the lab should make up from another section.

For each missed lab or lab report two points will be subtracted from the final term grade.

More than three missed labs will result in an F for the entire course.

All lab graphs must be handmade, therefore students are expected to have rulers, graph paper,
calculators, pen and pencil with eraser handy.

Student Learning Outcomes

• Identify and apply concepts and methods of science
• Apply the scientific method to explore natural phenomena
• Use scientific tools to carry out collaborative laboratory work
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data in reports
• Use research ethics and unbiased assessment
