Specific Perspective: (SPECIFICALLY ELIJAH)
Through meltdown videos, there could be some educational purposes within the
community.
● There can be positive and negative points to these topics.
Autism Spectrum:
(going back to dynamic fighting back– “you don’t have to be so rude.”) ;; oversharing
dynamics, over sensitive to different things, don’t want anyone to touch their stuff, their
special interest is bugs,
-working through it to have more organic relationships; authentic/being able to
have that connection.
● being able to communicate when someone is making them upset; “What I heard
you say is [topic] because [reason onto why]”.
Taking the children's book from a specific perspective/ slice of what autism is from the
larger part of the spectrum.
● There are different levels of Autism, EX; Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. (goes
from how much autism impacts their everyday life).
Motivation:
There might be things in everyday life;; is there any way to avoid that?
● Being able to have that motivation to go somewhere or do things to adapt due to
a certain motivation there.
○ Having that motivation affects they want to go somewhere, and being able
to deal with those certain situations.
● Without that form of motivation; it’s not able to be utilized in their everyday life.
○ Being able to break through, but being able to try certain things will be
able to help them.
■ Skipping out on a school assembly- and showing that dynamic
of: being able to do things that are hard of us but having that
motivation helps.
Phrases:
Difference between respectful and nice.
Every individual is different, so you can’t necessarily expect one person from the
community to represent it all completely.
Parental Figures:
The difference between reactions to big emotions/feelings and what's the cultural
differences. (interesting dynamic between individuals who have autism and can
self-advocate– being able to speak vs. individuals who don’t)
