These categories represent, more or less, the major concerns and the values needed for the building of culture of peace in the Philippines (Galace et.al. 2010). The culture of peace emphasizes the importance of keeping the family and community together amidst all the adversities of the world today. This is believed to be the root of culture of peace. Values like respect for human rights and democracy make peace flourish especially when the social and political institutions ensure the fulfilment of basic needs and social equality.
