re is revered as the father
of electrodynamics. One ampere of current is said to flow
when electrical charge is flowing at the rate of one
Coulomb per second. This leads to the following
mathematical definition:

TABLE II, measured Current value IN the given voltage using the electronic vom following
the set-up shown below:
Resistor Voltage cURRENT
(V) (i)
R1 24 v 22.53 m A d c
R2 24 v 15.85 m A d c
R3 24 v 6.82 mAdc
R4 24 v 2.29 mAdc
R2 30 v 19.32 mAdc
R2 15 v 8.85 mAdc
TABLE III. CALCULATED RESISTANCE OF RESISTORS USING THE CURRENT
VALUES IN TABLE II AND A VOLTAGE OF 24.
(R)
R1 22.53 m A d c 24 v 1065.2463 Ω
R2 15.85 m A d c 24 v 1514.1956 Ω
In table 1, the measured values using electronic vom of the four resistors are within the range
of calculated values in ohms.
In table iii, the calculated resistance of the four resistors using the measured current flow in
table ii are not exactly the same as the measured value in table I, but the calculated resistance of
the four resistors in table iii are within the range of calculated values of resistors in table 1.
IV. Conclusion
Calculations are based on absolute values and do not take into account component tolerances,
measurement accuracy or distributed circuit resistance. The calculated value is ideal. Reading is
convenient. The two rarely match exactly, but the difference should always be within the
tolerances of the circuit components and the accuracy of the measuring device.
Ohm's law states that current flow is inversely proportional to resistance. Therefore, for a
constant value of applied voltage, increasing resistance decreases current flow and decreasing
resistance increases current flow.
Ohm's Law states that current is directly proportional to voltage. For fixed resistance values,
this means that increasing the applied voltage will increase the current flow, and decreasing the
voltage will decrease the current flow.
