InstallationTips&Warnings
Thisproductismeanttobeinstalledbyprofessionals,ifyouattempt
installationwithoutthenecessaryqualificationsyoudosoatyour
ownrisktoyouandyourvehicle.
Beforeinstallationofthisproduct,pleaseremovethenegative(-)
terminalfromyourcarsbattery.

Theignitionswitched+12v(IGN)wireonthepowercableneedstobe
connectedtoasourcewhichhasafusewhichdoesnotexceed30A,
failuretodosoandifthereisanykindofelectricalshortmaydamage
theunitbeforethefusehasachancetoblow.

Ifsolderingwires,alwaysmakesuretoheatshrinktheconnections,
donotjustuseelectricaltapeasitmaycomeoffovertimeand
causeashort.
Ifyoufindthe2msuppliedhandsetcable&gaugetocontrolunit
cablesarenotlongenough,wesell2mextensioncables,please
contactus.Theseextensionsarebetterthanextendingthe
cablesyourself.
Donotinstallthecontrolunitintheenginebay,thecontrolunitis
notwaterproofordustproof.

Makesurethesensorcablesdonotrunpastorclosetoanyexcessive
heatsources,theEGTsensorisheatshielded,butothersensorwires
arenot.Usecommonsensewhenrunningthecablesinyourengine
bayaroundyourmotor.

Makesureanycablesrunningpastmovingpulliesorbeltsare
securedandoutoftheway.
Rememberenginesmoveundernormaldriving,whensecuring
cablesontheengineandthenagainonthebodyofthevehicle,
allowsomecablefreeforenginemovement.

Whensecuringthecablessotheydon'tfalllooseormovearound,
makesurethemethodusedwillnotleadtothecablesbeingdamaged
overtimefromvibration.Ziptiesarefine,butdon'tmakethem
excessivelytightastheymaycutintothecablesovertime.

BeforeconnectingtheTacho&SpeedwirestoyourvehiclesECU,
pleasetestthatthesystemisfunctioningcorrectlyandpowerwires
havebeeninstalledcorrectly.Youwillwanttoseethegaugegets
powerandnofusesblowwhenfirsttestingthegauge.Thenyoumay
connecttheTacho&SpeedtoyourECU.

IfyouareunsureofwhichwiresonyourECUtoconnecttheTachoand
Speed,pleasedonotjustguess,contactusandwecantryandassist
withfindingthecorrectpinsonyourECU.
Usethreadsealantonallsensorswith1/8NPT&3/8NPTthreadsto
makesuretherearenoleaks.Checkforanyleaksafterinstallation,
failuretodosocouldleadtoadamagingcoolant,oilorfuelleak.

Werecommendwiththeoilpressuresensorifusingasandwichplate,
thatyouhavea1/8NPTlinemadeupandmounttheoilpressure
sensorawayfromtheplateandrunthelineofftoit.Whilemany
connecttheoilpressuresensorsdirectlyintothesandwichplates,
wethinkit'sbetterpracticetorunalineofftothem.

WeDONOTrecommendinstallingtheEGTsensorsbeforetheturbo,
wealwaysrecommendtheyareinstalledaftertheturbo,usuallyon
thedumppipeorasclosetotheturboaspossible.

DONOTconnectthepressuresensorsuptoanywatersources,the
pressuresensorsarenotdesignedtobeusedinthecoolantsystem
theyarealsonotdesignedtobeusedintheexhaustsystemseither.

Fourteendifferentsensor&inputreadoutsareselectabletodisplay
Theunitcansupportdaisychainingofupto7gaugesatonce,amixof
OLEDmultigaugesoralsoadd52mmsteppergauges.

OnlyusedforOBDIIInstall

Therearetwodifferentmethodstoinstallthesesystemstoobtainpower,oneisthestandaloneinstall
whichthisdiagramabovecovers.ThesecondisanOBDIIinstallwhichweshowthediagramforon
page15ofthismanual.

Thedifferencebetweenthesetwomethodsofinstallis,thestandaloneinstallyouwillneedtorunthe
suppliedDCsourcepowercableofftowiresonyourvehicleto+12vconstantpower,+12vIGN,
Ground&+12vheadlight.TheOBDIImethodofinstallisforvehiclesthathaveanOBDIIport,instead
ofusingthesuppliedDCpowercableusedonthestandalonemethodforinstall,youwouldusethe
OBDIIcablewhichissoldseparatelyandthiscablewillprovideallthepowerandgroundswithout
anyneedforsolderingorcrimpingtogivetheunitpower.

TheOBDIIinstallmethodwillalsoallowyoutoobtainsomereadingsfromthevehiclesECUthrough
theOBDIIinputport,suchasSpeed&RPMwithouttheneedtohardwirethoseinaswell.What
readingsyoucangetfromtheOBDIIportwilldependonthevehicle,butwhicheverreadingsdonot
displayfromtheECUonthegaugeyoutheninstallthesuppliedsensorstogetthosereadings.

Thestandalonemethodofinstallcanbeusedonanyvehicle,buttheOBDIImethodofinstallcanonly
beusedifthevehicleisequippedwithanECUwhichhasanOBDIIport.

1.Confirmthecontents.
⇒ Checkthatallpartslistedinthismanualaresuppliedandinyourbox

2.Preparethenecessarypartsforinstallation.

3.Confirmthelocationofthepowersource(+B,GND,IGN,ILM)andthe
sensorinstallation.
4.Disconnectthenegative(-)batteryterminal.
5.Connectthecontrolunitspowersupplywiretovehicle.

6.Connectthepowersupplywiretothecontrolunit.Connectthenegative
batteryterminalandturntheignitionon.ThenconfirmDCSOURCELED

Ifthepowersourcewireiswiredincorrectly,LEDwon'tlight.IfLEDdoesn't
light,pleaseconfirmwiringagain.

7.Disconnectthenegativebatteryterminalandinstalleachsensor.

8.Connectthesensorandthesensorwire.Thenconnecttothecontrolunit.

9.Toconfirmthewiringandconnection,connectgaugesanddisplaystothe
controlunittemporarilybyusingmeterwires.Donotfixthegaugeatthis
stage.

10.Connectthenegativebatteryterminal.

11.ConfirmthattheDCSOURCELEDisonwhentheignitionison.Ifthe
powersupplywireiswiredcorrectly,theDCSOURCELEDofthecontrolunit
lightsinblue.

TheDCSOURCELEDisnoton:Thepowersupplyisnottaken.
→ Turntheignitionoff,thenpleaseconfirmthewiringofthepowersupplywire.

● ThewarningLEDofgaugeisblinkingorthewarningLEDandpeakLEDare
blinkingatthesametime:disconnection,shortcircuit,orcommunication
errorisoccurred.

→ Turntheignitionoff,thenpleaseconfirmthewiringofthesensorandthe
sensorwire.

Warning

Ifthewiringdefectsarenotfound,itisprobablethatthereisadefectinthe
product.Pleasedetachtheproductimmediatelyandaskforinspection.It
maydamagethevehicle.

12.TurntheignitionOFF.

13.Disconnectthemeterwirefromthegauge,andattachthegaugebyusing
mountingbracket.Confirmitisinstalledfirmly,thenconnectthemeterwire
again.

14.Connectthehandsettothecontrolunitandfixthehandsetwith
doublesidedtape.Beforeattachingit,makesurethesurfaceisclean.

15.Set2dipswitchesofthecontrolunit.

● Dipswitch1:SettingthebuzzersoundON/OFF.
● Dipswitch2:SelectbetweenifanIATorTransTempsensorisinstalledon
port(12)ofthecontrolunit,Off=IAT&On=Transmissiontemp.

16.Aftersettingisdone,fixthecontrolunitwithattachednutsandboltsand
commercialmountingbracket.

 

Confirmation
Gauges,includingthisproduct,arenotwaterproof.Pleasedonotinstall
gaugesnearthevehiclefloororinwetareas.

Usemountingbracketswiththicknessof3mm(0.1")andunder.
Donotuseotherthanthesuppliedbolts.Useofotherboltsmaydamage
theinsideofthecontrolunit.
Thecontrolunitcontainsbuzzer.Soitmaydifficulttohearthesoundsifthe
controlunitisinstalledinsidethedashboardorfarfromdriver'sseat.
Itispossibletochangethesettinglater.Inordertochangelater,pleasefix
thecontrolunitsoastooperatethedipswitch.

17.Finalconfirmationofinstallcompletion

Pleasebesuretocheckthefollowinglist;otherwise,thereisapossibility
thataseriousaccidentmayoccur.


□ Ensurethatallhosesandtubingarepermanentlyattached.Alsoensurethat
thereisnoliquidorexhaustleakage.

□ Checkthatthesensorandwiresarenotinterferingwiththeengineopera-
tion.

□ Ensurethatthegaugeandwiresaretightlyattached,sotheydon'tcome
looseandhinderdriving.

□ Checkthatallwiresdisconnectedfromthevehicleduringinstallationhave
beenproperlyreattached.

Warning

Afterinstallation,checkthatnomaterialsortoolsremaininthedriver'sseat
ortheenginecompartment.Iftherearetoolsleftatthefeetofthedriver's
seat,thismaycauseadrivertolosecontrolofbrakebecauseoftoolsor
materialscaughtunderthebrakepedal.Iftherearetoolsintheengine
compartment,theenginemaybreak.

HowtochangetheACTIVEgauge
BelowistheprocesshowyouchangetheACTIVEgauge,notewe
recommendyoufirstselectthegaugeasACTIVEthatwillbeyour
primarygauge,thensetuptheSYSTEMSETUPsettingsand
WARNINGSETUPsettingsfirst,andthescreenlayoutonyour
primarygauge.Onceyouhavesetupyourfirstscreen,usethe
proceduretochangetheACTIVEgaugetoyoursecondgauge,
thenyoucansetupyourscreenlayoutonthatgauge,thenonce

WhenthewidebandtypesettingissettoNORMAL,seepage28&29,and
thissettingissettoAFR,thegaugewilldisplayarangeof10-20AFR.This
rangeisusedinpetrolapplicationsandnote85forexample,butifusing
fuelslikee85only,orevenifrunningflexfuelandhaveamixof98&e85
attimes,wehighlyrecommendyoulearnLambdaandstartuseitinstead
asit'sauniversalmeasurementoffuellingwhereAFRvariesacross
differentfuels.

WhenthissettingischangedtoLambdathegaugewillchangefrom
displaying10-20AFRtoLambda,andtherangethatwillbedisplayedfor
Lambdais0.68to1.36.

NoteforDieselcustomers,ifyouhavechangedtheWidebandTypesetting
toDiesel,seepage28&29,youwouldleavethisonAFRandthegaugewill

Avehiclesbatterywhichisgoingflatcausingalargevoltagedroptothesystemwhile
it'sbootingcancauseacorruptionofthesystemsfirmware.Thiswillpresentasthe
start-upanimationstillworkingaspernormal,butafterloadingcertainreadingsare
missingfromthedisplay,orasolidlinethroughthedisplay.Ifthegaugewasworking
normallyandthensuddenlyit'snolongerfunctioningnormally,thereisagoodchance
thesystemhasbeenpoweredwhiletherewasaninsufficientvoltageconditionwhich
hascausedafirmwarecorruption.

topcoversoyouexposethetopofitsPCB.Notethatyouwillstillneedpower

theboxtogetthescrewsouteasier,justplugthepowercablebackinoncedoneso
wecandothereset.

OnthecontrolboxesPCBthereisaresetbutton,Ihaveattachedaphotowhichshows
youwherethisbuttonislocatedontheboard.

Powerupthegauge,onceithasfinishedbootingupthenpressandholdthisreset
buttonfor5sec.Youwillknowoncetheresethascompletedasthegaugewill
poweroffandonagain.Oncecompletedthefirmwarewillhavebeenreflashedto
thegaugeandeverythingshouldbebacktonormal.
