Euthenics Elms

Week 15

1. According to the talk, are the annoying people considered as the major source of conflicts at work?
Justify your answer.

 For me it's a no, annoying people is not the major source of conflict, it's just that it starts with
the people. As the speaker discuss, dysfunctional single individual is the major cause of the
conflict and these types of people is a danger in the organization by doing bullying because
he/she has no self awareness and could hurt other people. In the workplace it is important to
understand and value the diverse culture, as well as the norms, beliefs, structures, loyalties,
policies, fears, habits and procedures.

2. What are the five (5) steps given by Ms. Schulz to fix conflicts? In your opinion, are the steps given
feasible? Would you try these steps in the current conflict that you are experiencing?

 The five (5) steps given by Ms. Schulz to fix conflicts are:
1. We need to rule out the unfortunate possibility that a single dysfunctional individual is
actually the source of conflict.
2. Asking the right people the right question.
3. Making sure that everyone is aligned.
4. Find allies at all levels in the organization to help you implement the change.
5. Teach new habits for managing differences.

In my opinion, the methods proposed by the speaker to prevent conflicts in the workplace are feasible,
and I agree with the speaker that they are an efficient strategy to do it also the video is a big help for the
organizations to solve their thorniest problem. Since I believe this is possible, I would try these five steps
to prevent conflicts with my classmates. It is great to be open and express our opinions or thoughts in a
proper manner. We should also avoid making offensive jokes because doing so is considered bullying.
These five steps could really help conflicts organizations and our circle of friends. To do this, it takes
some effort, courage, commitment, and little humor.
