Report on flexitime

The purpose of this report is to present the flexitime system that the management wants to
introduce in our company. It is based on findings from staff questionnaires and financial
assessment from the Accounts Department.
This new plan would be extremely beneficial to our business. First, longer business hours
would allow customers to contact us on Saturdays as well as make it easier for clients from other
time zones to contact us. Second, less strain would be placed on office machinery like
photocopiers, increasing efficiency.
The ability to avoid rush hour traffic and the opportunity to spend more time with their
family are the two biggest benefits for personnel. This will probably result in a notable boost in
both morale and productivity.
The initial cost of establishing a clocking-in system is roughly Euro 10,000 + VAT,
therefore the financial costs of such a scheme are significant. This, however, is a fixed expense
that can be deducted from taxes and perks like cheaper insurance costs and copying expenses.
The costs listed above are more than offset by the significant improvement in productivity.
The vast majority of the staff members support the notion; nevertheless, it should be
noted that a sizeable portion are against the implementation of a timekeeping system, thus this
would need to be done with caution.
After carefully examining the available data, I draw the conclusion that the development
of a flextime system would be financially sustainable, and I subsequently urge its
implementation within the upcoming six months.
