Providing concrete reasons and specific examples, please discuss what one important
thing you would change in your hometown if you were able to do so.

Traffic congestion has always been a problem in big cities, for people who have a car
and people who use public transport. Something important that I would change in my
city is the public transport system for one that is more efficient. In this way the traffic
congestion in the city is freed up. In addition to polluting much less if it is a modern
system such as electric buses. And something that we cannot forget is that users will be
happier with the new system.

Improving the public transportation system will help to relieve traffic congestion in the
city. This is achieved by first organizing the bus routes so that many do not cross at the
same time. For example, last week I saw that 5 different buses circulated on the same
street, that is too much for a single street. Also bus owners could agree to join. For
example, several bus lines have already been seen that have joined together so as not to
compete with each other. And a third idea is to make drivers comply with a specific
distance and not make them mark by time. Many of us have seen how drivers drive very
fast just to arrive at an indicated time and be able to mark their arrival. All these ideas
can be implemented, some faster than others but the goal can be achieved.

A new public transport system will pollute much less when compared to old buses that
emitted much more gases into the environment. This can be achieved by switching to
electric buses. We have seen that there are already electric buses in the city such as line
89. Maintaining the buses also helps them to function for more years. There are cars that
have been very well preserved for decades with good maintenance. And another idea
would be to buy new buses that will replace the buses that have a long time. For
example, if a bus has been in operation for more than 5 years it should be replaced by a
new one. Some of these ideas have already been put into practice and good results have
also been seen.
An important aspect of a public service is keeping your users happy with your service.
One way to improve is by changing many bus drivers. I think that many people have
seen the bad treatment that bus drivers offer to users. Something that users like is
knowing when the next bus will come. For example, we see this in the Metrovia where
it indicates every few minutes the next bus comes. Having new and clean buses is
something that gets people's attention. For example, people will always prefer a new
and clean bus because of the good service it offers as well as being comfortable. If users
are happy with the service offered, they will speak well, use it frequently and prefer it
over others.

In conclusion, I believe that several of these ideas can be implemented little by little if
they are taken into account with the right people. It is very important in a large city that
there is an efficient public transport system that can decongest traffic while being
modern and safe. In addition to having users satisfied with your service. If the
authorities put more effort to improve this issue, it would be of great help to a large city
like Guayaquil.
