Goal 1:
Within the 8 weeks of Field Experience IV,
I will create and implement at least seven
lessons that include and accurately
represent indigenous ways of knowing and
practices. Lessons must be interdisciplinary
and multimodal.
Strategies and Timelines:
The steps that need to be taken to accomplish
this goal would first, document and reflect on
the knowledge I have about the importance of
indigenous education. My desire to
implement indigenous education must be
genuine and come from a place of accuracy.
This will be completed within the first two
days of field experience.
Secondly, I will review my Indigenous
Education resource and make any alterations
if they are not relevant anymore. This
resource provides many supports and ideas to
assist in blending. While reviewing, I will
make note of any lessons I think will benefit
my students and myself. This will be
completed by the fourth day of field
experience.
Third, I will discuss ideas with my partner
teacher and their partner teacher on ways they
have integrated indigenous ways of knowing
into their practice. I will utilize other supports
listed during this time. Collaboration can
provide additional supports in guiding my
practice. This will be completed by the fourth
day of field experience.
By the end of the 8 weeks of field experience,
I will use my Indigenous Education resource
and other supports to formulate lessons that
 accurately represent indigenous culture. After
each lesson, I will reflect and discuss what
went well versus what needs to be changed
and apply it into the following lessons.
