Menes

Pharaoh of the 29th century a. C. to whom the unification of Egypt is


attributed. According to legendary tradition, Menes was the first pharaoh
of the first dynasty, with whom the human history of Egypt began; he
had been implanted directly by the gods, with whom he was related.
Along with the unification of Egypt, that founding act had also brought
writing, art, agriculture, and craft techniques.
