How To Pitch The First Date

If you just talk to women on online dating sites, via email,

IM, or whatever, that doesn’t accomplish much. This entire
process is meaningless until you meet her in real life.

I know that sounds obvious but I’m shocked at the sheer

number of guys who just “talk” to women online for what
seems like forever, never even asking to meet up in real life.

The best time to pitch the first date is after she’s responded
to at least two of your emails to her (as long as both
responses aren’t negative). Once she’s done this, there is an
85% chance she’s ready to meet up with you in real life.

Once you get two responses, here are some things you can
say to her to get her to meet up with you. I have used these
exact same pitches, or variations of them, scores of times,
with great success.

“Blah blah blah….. You seem safe enough. We should meet

up. Something simple like drinks after work. I’m busy
Monday and Tuesday but Wednesday and Friday should
work. If you’re up for it let me know what part of town
you’ll be coming from and I’ll give you a time and place.”

This pitch is great because it accomplishes several things:

1. It positions you as a busy guy with a life and things to

do, which is an attractive quality.

2. By saying “something simple like drinks”, you are not

being needy by asking her out on a “big date”. Nor are
you going to make her nervous or defensive by asking
her out on a big pressure-filled “dinner date”.

3. Saying “something simple like drinks” sets the stage

that you are not going be spending a lot of money. It’s
good she hears this kind of thing in advance.

4. By asking what part of town she’ll be coming from,

you’ll be able to pick a place that she won’t complain
is too far away from where she’ll be.

5. Best of all, it makes it clear that YOU will be picking

the place. One of the biggest complaints women have
about men in dating is guys often will ask a woman
out, then have no idea where to go, giving her the I-
don’t-know-where-do-you-want-to-go crap. BAD!
This pitch makes you sound decisive, another
attractive quality women crave in men.

If the woman you’re talking to is either more businesslike, or

seems more flighty or flaky, you could use a pitch like this:

“You seem safe enough. We should meet. Something simple

like grabbing some drinks. I have Wednesday at 5:30pm free
or Thursday at 7:30pm free. Let me know if either of those
work.”

If she agrees to either time, you’re in. Sometimes, she may

even come back with “Neither of those work, but Tuesday at
6:00pm would work.” That’s fine too. All you need now is
to let her know where you want to meet. The great thing
about this pitch is that it nails down the time very fast, and
thus may appeal to more businesslike women, or be helpful
in nailing down more flighty/flakey women.

The key here is to not just say “Hey, we should go out

sometime.” That’s stupid, weak, and ineffective. You need
to strongly and specifically ask her out, but at the same time
come across as a busy, non-needy guy. Both pitches above
accomplish this.

Feel free to modify the above pitches to more match your

own personality and style. By now you should understand
what you need to accomplish by asking a woman out on a
date.

By the way, these pitches can be used for any circumstance

when you’re asking a woman out. Not just on a dating site,
but while IMing her, or on Facebook, or while texting, or on
the phone, or in person, or whatever.
