Delinquent Teens

The impression of delinquency started in the United States of America (USA) in

the late 1800s, it was established with the description of a person who hasn’t reached
the age of 18 and commits acts that were crimes to adults. Delinquent teens also known
as juvenile delinquency, these terms are used when a child/teenager has the tendency
to do crimes albeit stealing, vandalism, or higher types of crime like getting involved in
illegal drug dealing, and getting into gang wars that can result in death. There are
several punishments when a hooligan is caught in act, it varies, when they are
sentenced to go to prison, ages below 18 years old will not be sent to jail, instead, they
will be sent to juvie prison, it is a detention center where youngsters that committed
crimes are incarcerated. They will serve their time in juvie, and get rehabilitated.

What causes juvenile delinquency?

There are a lot of reasons that cause a person's delinquency, there’s family
matters like divorced or separated parents, lack of moral guidance, and domestic
violence. Usually, children act rebellious against their parents due to these said reasons
of delinquency. These are the push factors. There are also other reasons like peer
pressure, psychological problems, poor socio-economic status, and feeling of inferiority.

What can be done to prevent hooliganism?

Preventative measures can be done in terms of family matters as such, do family

planning in order to avoid conceiving too many children a parent can’t handle, second,
checking in on your children regularly also helps them relieve stress and removes
negative thoughts that can result to bad behavior, teaching good manners at home,
differentiate what’s right from wrong, and have a positive approach ; also prevent toxic
positivity since it can cause denial and invalidation of one's feelings. There are also
self-preventative matters like acknowledging that the emotion one is feeling, cut ties
with friends that are bad influences, and do physical activities that can divert your
attention. The government have made several solution for juvenile delinquency such as
parent-child interaction training program, community involvement, and prevention
programs within the Juvenile Justice System.
