Introduction of Catholicism in the Philippines

During the 333 years that the Philippines was a Spanish colony, it ran like a
theocracy by the Catholic Church. The Church continues to act as if it has the right to
dictate its will to every Filipino, which indicates that a three-century habit is difficult to
break.

Health

Abortion- All people have a responsibility to protect and nurture human life at all stages
and to maintain a society where violent crimes are as far away from occurring as possible.
But Catholic Churches stated that "Human life must be respected and protected
absolutely from the moment of conception. Abortion is a direct violation of the
fundamental right to life of the human being."

Euthanasia- The Catholic Church said and believes that an evil act is when someone
makes an attempt on their life or kills an innocent person. Each person is required to live
in accordance with God's will and with an openness to it, looking to heaven for life's
fulfillment. But euthanasia is a choice for good to make less for the person’s suffering,
and a burden to the wallet.
.
Law

Catholics are opposed to the death penalty saying that such a punishment has not been
proven to stop people from committing crimes. And because it is an attack on the
inviolability and dignity of the person I, as a citizen, agree with the death penalty for this
is an important tool for preserving law and order, deters crime, and costs less than life
imprisonment.

Beliefs

Catholic Churches often think sometimes that they’re all right because of their beliefs and
experiences from time to time.

Sexuality

The Catholic Church discriminated against gays and lesbians and the tradition that if you
are a man, you must provide everything for the family and if you are a woman, you will do
all the house chores and just make your husband happy.
