Installing Seeker VR or OROTTCL So you want to install Seeker VR? Awesome! All you'll need is your Quest 2, the charging cable that came with it and your Windows, macOS or Linux computer. 1) Head over to SideQuestVR.com and nab the right download for your operating trem. Desktop Download Ae 81.7MB Mtoe Tiy Cee ee cs 2) Install che software, bur don’t bother opening ie just yet; we've got a few more hoops to jump through first. 3) By default, your Quest is locked down so that i’ only install apps from the official store. Fortunately, Oculus make it easy to unlock your headset so you can run whatever you want! Just browse to the Oculus Developer Dashboard, and Jog in with your Facebook account. 4) Developer accounts on Quest can install whatever apps they choose, as well as having access to some other cool features! So lee’ get you registered asa developer. (Don’t worry commitments and only takes one step.) ie’s free, doesn’t come with any extra emails or Create New Organization @ orpmnenhane 5) Just come up with a random name for your organisation ~ if you're not actually planning on developing any games for Quest, it doesn’t really matter what you pucin here ~ and agree to the terms of service, That's ic! 6) Next, we'll need to install some drivers if you're on a Windows machine. (macOS. and Linux users, move right along to the next section.) PC users, grab the download from Oculus and unzip it. Open it up, choose Devices in the bottom row and find Developer Mode to activate the toggle. a. Note: Oculus have been known to change where Developer Mode is located in the app; this information is accurate as of September 2021. ceed 9) Ifyou have an Unlock Pattern set up, it’s recommended that you remove it in order to get things working smoothly with SideQuest. (IF you don’t have one, don’t worry about it.) You can remove any Unlock Patterns right here in the app, which is handy. 10) IMPORTANT: you'll now need to reboot your headset. To do this, put it on, hold down the power burton on the side, and choose Restart from the menu that appears. (Don’t choose Power Off.) 1) Almost there! Plug your Quest into your computer using the charging cable that came with ie. a. Ifyou don’t have a USB-C port on your machine, fear not; you can use a cheap USB-C female to USB-A male adapter (about $5 on Amazon), buy a new cable (the Anker brand is recommended by the Oculus team) or just borrow a friend’s laptop. 12) Put your headset on (with the cable still connected) - you should see a screen like the one below. Check the box to ‘Always allow from this computer’ if this is your own machine, and click Allow. No tasks running 14) In the top-right corner of the SideQuest app, you should see a small icon with a downward-facing arrow. Hover over that icon to reveal the tooltip: ‘Install APK file from folder on computer’. DCE a Ree 15) Your download should consist of this readme file and the Seeker VR app itself - which is packaged as an APK. 16) Just click the button and browse to where you downloaded Seeker VR. Choose the APK file (it’s the large file named ‘SeckerVR_vt.xx.apk’), and press open. SideQuest should let you know once the app has been successfully installed. 6 18) When it’s done, put on your headset, open the app drawer and change the dropdown to read ‘Unknown Sources’.
