2. An undisturbed sample of Clay is found to have wet weight of 300 N and
dry weight of 260 N and total soil volume of 0.015 m 3. If Gs = 2.70, determine w%,

a. Solve by applying weight-volume relationship basic and derived
formulas? (5 Mks)
b. Verify your answers by drawing a phase diagram with given total volume
and using basic relationships only for above requirements?
