At the two ends of each sample a steel tube was fixed used as an anchoring (Length: 300mm, Nominal Diameter: DN15 (%") / DN20 (%") J DN25 (1"), Thickness: 2.6mm / 2,3mm / 2,0mm) fled with liquid epoxy adhesive (Type: Sikadur-52 Injection, Type N, Type LP). The samples were allowed to cure for ten days before testing. GFRP bar with all its components were secured across the loading ends of a universal testing machine. The machine was programmed to apply a pull force at a rate of 15mm/min independent of the elongation of the test piece until load failure occurred (see photo of test setup in Appendix) ‘TEST RESULTS 1.
