1 The procedure for filing an FIR is extremely straightforward.

It's as simple as telling the

police a narrative. The informant must go to the nearest police station to the crime scene
and provide any information he or she knows about the crime.

and countries are required to respect it.

all costs but to place before the court whatever evidence is in the possession of the

right to consult, and defended by a legal practitioner (lawyer); of their choice."

reported, ensure protection to the citizens and their property. In short they have to
enforce the Law related to their duties.

7 Basu Guidelines are the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court for specific
requirements and procedures that police have to follow for arrest, detention, and
interrogation of any person. The police officials who carry out the arrest or interrogation
should wear clear, accurate and visible identification and name tags with their
designations • A memo of arrest should be prepared at the time of arrest and should
include the time and date of arrest.
