and an American urogynecologist, Red Alinsod, Female Cosmetic Genital Surgery is, to date,
the second recently published text book whose entire focus is on cosmetic surgery of the female
genitals. 15 authors, including the editors, contribute to the text, which has an international
flavor: authors hail from Colombia, Brazil, Australia, France, Russia, as well as U.K. and U.S.

Authors also hail from several specialties, with plastic surgery, gynecology, urogynecology,
urology, dermatology and cosmetic medicine represented. Both factors have resulted in a work

which is broad in both content and perspective.
Female Cosmetic Genital Surgery consists of 17 chapters divided into 3 sections. Part 1
is an introduction to the topic, including well-written chapters on female genital anatomy and
indications for surgery and psychological considerations. The chapter, written by plastic surgeon

Surgery is available as an e-book, and includes supplemental video content. 16 technique videos

the highlights.

Female Cosmetic Genital Surgery is a well-produced, high quality text book. Layout, text
font and photograph and illustration quality make it a pleasure to read. Photographs and
illustrations are very good and consistent throughout. Overall writing quality, despite multiple
references offered. Plastic surgery and gynecology perspectives are both presented in about equal
amounts. The videos are high quality, definitely supplement the text, and are a highlight,
Drs. Hamori, Banwell and Alinsod are commended for the publication of this fairly
comprehensive textbook on the rapidly growing field of female genital cosmetic surgery.
