ACADEMIC INTEGRITY WEBINAR

HOST’S SCRIPT

H: Excellence and integrity-- these are blessings from The

Almighty. With this, let us be one in silence and thank The
Lord as we all pray the Angelite Prayer.

*ANGELITE PRAYER & NATIONAL ANTHEM*

H: A good, mighty morning to all of you, scholars!

Excellence is a word that has long been upheld in our lives
as learners.

There’s a saying, excellence must be pursued. It must be

wooed with all of one’s might and every bit of effort that
we have.

But integrity– now that’s an altogether different word. A

word that perhaps must be paired and pursued along with
excellence, for it serves as a guiding light towards honesty
and morality.

Thankfully, we are gathered here today to learn and know

more about how we can chase our goals.

I am your host, Jan David. Scholars, welcome to our webinar

on academic integrity!

H: Before we go on with today's session, we would like to

remind everyone of a couple of things:

-Please keep your microphones on mute and your cameras off.

-Today’s event is also going to be a recorded live session.
-Any form of inappropriate and discriminatory speech will
not be tolerated.
-Learning and interaction— that’s what this session is for.
So, if you have questions regarding our topic, please feel
free to send them to our chat box because later, we will
have a Q&A session.
-And lastly, provide feedback. Help us improve our online
events and programs to better match your needs. With this,
please fill out the activity evaluation form, which will
also serve as your attendance, will be posted later in our
chat box.

H: Now I know this day has piqued your curiosity and interest.
So, without further ado, let us meet our esteemed resource
speaker for today, shall we?

Our speaker is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology

who became the HR officer of Clark Plastic Manufacturing and
Quanta Paper Corporation from 1996-2004.

I am pretty sure that you guys are no strangers to her as she is

undoubtedly one of the prominent figures in the Angelite
Community.

From 2004-2007 she was HAU's Career and Placement Coordinator.

From 2007-2015, she served as the university's student conduct
officer. But the best was yet to come for her because since 2015
she's been heading the office of student affairs.

With her signature bob-cut hair and her enthusiastic voice,

there's no doubt that she could light up every student's
challenging journey in the school. Fellow scholars, let us all
welcome one of the mothers of scholars and the Angelites, and the
Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Ms. Iris G. Castro!
*PRESENTATION OF MS. CASTRO*

H: There is no doubt that schooling has never been a walk in the

park, for it is a journey full of hardships and trials. But we
need to remind ourselves that such challenges are instrumental
for our betterment. That’s why it is only right that we be guided
by the right things to overcome and make the most out of our
journey in the academe. Thank you, Miss Iris, for that insightful
and wisdom-filled talk!

H: And now, just as I can feel your passion, I can also sense
that you have some questions waiting to be answered. But don’t
you worry, because this is the chance for you to appease your
curiosity.

Having said that, we will be, yet again, joined by Miss Castro
for some more kindling, guidance, and inspiration.

Good morning, ma’am! Now that we once again have you on board, we
are more than ready to open our floor for our Q&A session. To all
our attendees, kindly drop your questions in our chat box for
them to be addressed.

*Q&A SESSION*

Questions:

1. Sa course po namin, panay group efforts and mga outputs

namin. Given this, we have to work with different students.
The downside of group projects, however, is that
2. My course always involves a lot of speaking and writing. And
copying off of somebody else’s work has always been a thing
that bothered me. Unfortunately, mayroon po akong classmate,
na malapit ko ring kaibigan, na mahilig mangopya o “mag
plagiarize ng ibang works” para sa mga written outputs nya.
I attempted several times to confront this person, pero I
don’t know how. How should we handle a situation like this?

3.

4.

5.

6.

H: And that’s it for our Q&A session. Once again, thank you, Miss
Castro, for your valuable insights.

H: Now, to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for

the knowledge and wisdom you’ve imparted with us, allow us to
present to you your certificate of appreciation.

The certificate reads…

This certificate of appreciation is given to Ms. Iris Ann G.

Castro in recognition of her invaluable contribution as a
resource speaker on the topic ACADEMIC INTEGRUTY.

Given this 17th day of September in the year of Our lord two
thousand and twenty-two at Holy Angel University. Signed Ms.
Glesie T. Pineda, the Head of the University Scholarships and
Grants Office, and Mr. Robert P. Tantingco, the Head of the
Center for Kapampangan Studies.

H: Once again, a warm round of virtual applause and heartfelt

gratitude to our resource speaker, Ms. Iris G. Castro!
And to our scholars who have attended this online webinar, a huge
thank you for grabbing this opportunity to learn even more.

As they say, learning does not only happen inside the four
corners of a classroom or, in our case, the four corners of our
screens. For it is indeed ubiquitous and lifelong. And this
webinar attests to that.

We may be nearing the end of our insightful session, but I want

you to sit a little longer and tighter because we are going to
take it on an even higher note. With that, we turn over the
virtual stage to another one of our mothers, the Head of the
Scholarships and Grants Office, Ms. Glesie T. Pineda for her
closing remarks.

*CLOSING REMARKS BY MS. GLESIE PINEDA*

H: Thank you, Ms. Glesie.

Before we part ways and end this meaningful session, I would just
like to, once again, remind our attendees to please accomplish
our activity evaluation form.

We would like to hear from you and know your thoughts on our
event so that we can improve our future endeavors. So please,
fill it out. The link to our evaluation form will be posted on
our chatbox. Thank you very much!

H: Of course, we won't let this moment of togetherness pass by

without getting a special memento. With this, I kindly ask our
attendees to please turn on their cameras for our photo
opportunity.

H: It has been a productive and meaningful session with you,
scholars. On behalf of the University Scholarships and Grants
Office, we wholeheartedly thank everyone for attending this event.

Let us also extend our appreciation to the team behind our

program, Ms. Glesie T. Pineda, the Head of the University
Scholarships and Grants Office, Ms. Nimfa Laus, the secretary of
the University Scholarships and Grants Office, and Mr. Arvin
Lloyd Non, our technical staff.

Once again, thank you for joining us in this webinar and we hope
that with the vital knowledge and wisdom shared with us, we get
to supplement ourselves with a renewed passion to realize our
goals by not only being excellent, but also by being honest,
compassionate, and respectful to others.

Traversing the road towards our goals may be bumpy, but one
thing's for sure, if we do it right, we'll definitely make it
right. So, have the grit. Have the passion. And always pursue
with integrity. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your
presence. But above all, thank you for your excellence. Again,
this has been your host, Jan David.

Thank you and Laus Deo Semper!
