ADD to Section 1.2 Definitions:
Cannabis: Marijuana, as defined in Section 244-240 of the Connecticut General
Statutes.
Cannabis Establishment: A producer, dispensary facility, cultivator, micro-
cultivator, retailer, hybrid retailer, food and beverage manufacturer, product
‘manufacturer, product packager, delivery service or transporter.

13.7 Cannabis Uses ~ As authorized by Section 148(b) of June Special Session,
Public Act No. 21-1 (the “Act’), all cannabis establishments, as defined in Section
1(4) of the Act are prohibited and may not be established in the Town of Plainfield.
"Sec. 148 (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2021) (a) As used inthis section, "municipality" means
any town, city or borough, cansoidated town and city consolidated town and borough,
and a district establishing a zoning commission under section 7-326 of the genera
statutes,
{b) Any municipality may, by amendment to such municipaliy’s zoning regulations or
by locolordinonce, (1) prohibit the establishment of a cannabis establishment, (2)
establish easonable estvcions regarding the hours and signage within the limits of such
‘munlelpalty,o (3) establish restrictions onthe proximity of cannabis establishments to
any of the establishments sted in subsection (a of subdivision (1) of section 30-46 of the
general statutes. The chef zoning offical of a municipality shall report, in writing, any
zoning changes adopted by the municipality regarding cannabis establishments pursuant
to this subsection to the Secretary ofthe Offic of Policy and Management and to the{department not later than fourteen days after the adoption af such changes. emphasis

AMEND Section 18.3 Zoning Board of Appeals to ADD:
16.4.5 Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-6, as amended by
Public Act 77-509, the Town of Plainfield Zoning Board of Appeals is prohibited
from granting any variance which would permit any cannabis establishment to be
established in any zoning district within the Town of Plaintield.
