All stall From: Director, Human Resourees Division Dates February 21,2022 Subject: Completion of Skills Bank Database TT Reference is made to our memorandum dated April 20" 2020 regarding the above subject mater. ‘We wish to thank everyone who took the time to complete the Skills Bank database which isa key resource too! forthe Human Resources Division and by extension, the Authority. To date, however, ‘many of you unfortunately sil have not prioritised the completion of same. As such, we have not ‘been able to utilize the Skills Bank as desired. Ths includes utilization of the database to explore {wo (2) dominant recommendations made by you, our staff, arising out ofthe Caravan sessions held October 2019 and Annual General Meeting in Pebruary 2020 as follows: 1. “NALIS should seek to make greater use ofthe skills and talent of staffto provide more lnnovative and non-traditional library services and programmes.” 2. "Crosstraining where staff can share thelr knowledge with fellow-colleagues.” ‘The Skills Bank will enable the organisation to identify the many and varied talents, skills and ‘competencies of our internal human resources, as it provides a comprehensive profile of each ‘employee and will enable us fo continue our online training as identified in the NALIS Strategie Plan 2020-2023. As such, the database can easily facilitate the recommendations stated above.
