The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Pastoral Mentor to work as part of our team of
teachers and instructors at Wolverhampton Vocational Training Centre.
We provide 16 - 19 students with an EHCP, a range of vocational qualifications including Sports
Leadership, Motor Vehicles, Animal Care, Construction, Childcare and Hair and Beauty alongside
Independent Living Skills, Employability and English and Maths.
The ideal candidate will have:
 completed CPD within the behaviour/mentoring sector
 experience of working with pupils with complex cognitive difficulties
 minimum Degree Level qualification in SEND/Behaviour Support/Psychology
 minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
 evidence of excellent behaviour management skills
 experience of liaising with other colleagues to develop behaviour support packages
 experience of leading and managing behaviour support packages
 the ability to lead training and organise colleagues to deliver behaviour support packages

We are seeking to appoint Break and Midday Supervisors to join our Academy. This role is
an exciting opportunity in an expanding academy.
You should be able to relate well to children and support their needs during lunchtime and provide
cleaning and other ad hoc duties when students are in lessons. The role is part time, term time
only, to be made permanent following a successful six-month probation period.
You will:
 be responsible for the behaviour of pupils during the lunch and break time periods both
indoors and outdoors, in accordance with the general practices of the school
 ensure that Health and Safety practices and procedures affecting pupils and supervisory staff
are maintained including the reporting of accidents, action taken etc
 walk the corridors and move students to lessons at the end of break
 be involved in litter collections and monitoring student toilet areas

We are looking to appoint 2 enthusiastic, committed, energetic team-players to join our
team.
You will need to enjoy working as part of a team, have a firm but caring approach and a

Duties will include:
 supervising pupils in the dining areas, or other parts of the school premises, ensuring the
safety, welfare and behaviour of pupils during lunch time, in accordance with the practices and
procedures of the school
 playground supervision; including organising and playing games with the pupils
 assisting with associated ancillary duties (e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean
etc)

Investment Pooling Stakeholder Liaison Officer to be responsible for the day-to-day
management and support of Partner Fund collaboration and pooling delivery.
You will be required to travel between Stakeholder locations across the investment pool region
including those in Matlock, Leicester, Nottingham, Stafford, Chester, Worcester, Shropshire and
Wolverhampton. It is, therefore, essential that you are able to meet the mobility needs of the post.
The role will work closely with LGPS Central Limited in the collective delivery of investment
pooling, supporting oversight and reporting of deliverables (including risks and performance) to
Partner Funds, working across the partnership to develop a programme of delivery and reporting.
Acting as clerk and secretariat to formal meetings, you will need to be highly organised and
flexible with the ability to provide a structured program of support in a busy environment across a
number of different stakeholders, including elected Councillors.
A key area of the role will be relationship management and stakeholder engagement, you must,
therefore, have good experience of working across a number of different customers, forging close
working relationships through effective communication and management.
Ideally, you will have substantial experience of providing high quality professional stakeholder and

young people who have experienced adversity and trauma, and consequently may exhibit some

opportunity to work in our highly successful Travel Unit at the City of Wolverhampton
Council.
The Travel Unit integrates the transport delivery of Adult Social Care, Special Education Needs
and Disability (SEND) and Passenger Transport, which provides a vital service to transport
vulnerable children and adults with SEND needs across the City of Wolverhampton.
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual, looking to be immersed in a new challenge by
working within a large team who provide a statutory, frontline service to the people of
Wolverhampton.
Key responsibilities will include:
 ensuring that the operation of internal and contracted Education (SEND) travel services in the
city are operated efficiently and in accordance with policy
 being responsible for ensuring all day to day operational issues which arise in the area with
contractors, carers, parents, schools, colleges and cross departmental/service colleagues
particularly those within the Education (SEND) areas highlighted to their appropriate line
manage
 contributing fully to the safe and legal operation of the Unit
 supporting the Travel Unit Co-Ordinator and the Travel Unit Operational Support Lead in
processes relating to Management of Attendance and Performance Management policies
 analysing and performance managing vital data collected by the Travel Unit
 developing and maintaining good, professional relationships with contractors via various forms
of communication
 assisting Travel Unit Supervisors in ensuring, arrangements for travel requirements are in
place, this includes arranging Travel Assistant cover
 being proficient in raising official orders, sundry debtor invoices, checking invoices against
orders, clearing and coding for payment within set time limits, investigating statements, journal
transfers, dealing with queries and maintaining appropriate records
 maintaining sensitivity and considering the complex needs of each individual case.

A Designated Social Care Officer (DCSO) for SEND is increasingly seen as a proactive,
positive step forward in improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
The role offers an opportunity to strengthen collaborative working between Education, Health and
Social Care. DSCO’s are the named lead person in social care and lead in framing the social care
elements of the SEND strategy across the local authority and ensure compliance with the
legislative requirements of the SEND code of practice and that the statutory responsibilities under
the Children and Family Act (2014) and the Care Act (2014) are met leading to improved
outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
The DSCO plays a central role in representing Children’s Social Care within the SEND strategy
and improvement agenda; the DSCO has an important part to play in achieving CWC’s Statement
of Written Action priorities. The role represents and is responsible for developing practice across
Early Help, Strengthening Families, and Children and Young People in Care, including the

families, building strong relationships and connections to help them find long-lasting solutions.
We are looking for an Advanced Practitioner to work in the Principal Social Worker’s Team to
support high quality social work practice and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and
development across children’s social work teams in the city. You will be restorative and relational,
professionally curious and committed to embedding a Think Family approach.
This role will potentially be providing support to teams including Court, MASH, and some CIN/CP
teams, so experience in and knowledge of writing court reports and safeguarding work will be
required.
In this role, you will be a recognised practice leader, playing a crucial part in staff development by
creating and delivering training/workshops and leading reflective practice sessions. You will also
provide mentoring and practice support to Social Workers and social work teams and provide
additional support for those on the ASYE programme to support their learning and the
development of their portfolio.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will support the delivery of our Aiming for Excellence plan, taking
a lead on areas requiring development and supporting relevant quality assurance activity.
You will have significant post qualification experience and hold, or be currently working towards,
Practice Educator Stage 1 Award with a commitment to attaining your Practice Educator Stage 2
Award as part of the Advanced Practitioner role. You will have excellent written and verbal skills,
have extensive knowledge of social work theories and approaches, be legally literate and able to
offer effective challenge and feedback.
You will be directly line managed by the Deputy Principal Social Worker and will work closely with
other Advanced Practitioners in Children’s Services as well as those in Adult Services and also the
Senior Restorative Practice lead.

team. This post will focus on supporting people to identify and access residential rehabilitation
opportunities, to help them recover from problematic substance use. Whilst the post is based with
the Mental Health Team, there will be strong links with Recovery Near You, Wolverhampton’s
Substance Misuse Service.
You will:
 be dedicated to working directly with people with care and support needs and carers to ensure
that their voices are heard, and they are supported to live their idea of a good life
 have a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act, Mental
Capacity Act as well as key social work models and theories and evidence of application of
this to practice
 have strong analytical, assessment and negotiation skills
 have excellent time management and organisational skills
 be passionate about making a difference and committed to strengths-based working
 be able to demonstrate you can work with colleagues and alongside service providers, police,
health colleagues, voluntary partners and commissioners
 have strong interpersonal, communication and IT skills
 be registered with Social Work England

and commitment to improve the EET opportunities for young people in care and care leavers at
16+.
Working directly with young people, and with social care and other services, you will help to
develop education and care plans which appropriately address the EET needs of the young
person, supporting their positive progression through effective career planning and partnership
work.
You will need to have a good general standard of education and a qualification in
Careers/Connexions work. You should also have a thorough knowledge of the EET sector and a
proven ability to work positively and creatively with disadvantaged young people in either a social
care, educational or youth work setting. You should be an excellent communicator with knowledge
of the relevant legislation and safeguarding issues.

The Travel Unit integrates the transport delivery of Adult Social Care, Special Education Needs

Key responsibilities will include:
 ensuring that the operation of internal and contracted Education (SEND) travel services in the
city are operated efficiently and in accordance with policy
 being responsible for ensuring all day to day operational issues which arise in the area with
contractors, carers, parents, schools, colleges and cross departmental/service colleagues
particularly those within the Education (SEND) areas highlighted to their appropriate line
manage
 contributing fully to the safe and legal operation of the Unit
 supporting the Travel Unit Co-Ordinator and the Travel Unit Operational Support Lead in
processes relating to Management of Attendance and Performance Management policies
 analysing and performance managing vital data collected by the Travel Unit
 developing and maintaining good, professional relationships with contractors via various forms
of communication
 assisting Travel Unit Supervisors in ensuring, arrangements for travel requirements are in
place, this includes arranging Travel Assistant cover
 being proficient in raising official orders, sundry debtor invoices, checking invoices against
orders, clearing and coding for payment within set time limits, investigating statements, journal
transfers, dealing with queries and maintaining appropriate records
 maintaining sensitivity and considering the complex needs of each individual case.
Ideally, you will need to be educated to NVQ Level 2 in a transport, administrative or appropriate
discipline, or have extended experience in a transport or administrative related field.
