A little while ago,

Mal170582 approached me with his designs for a streamlined, geometrically improved Dalek. While I normally
avoid anything approaching a commission due to my chronic inability to manage deadlines, I found myself with both the time
and the interest to have a crack at building what he was sketching out on paper. It's a design full of really nice ideas, combining
work done by artists such as Ratbullets together with lots of things the official props have done over the years. Very flatteringly,
the basic proportions were taken from my Dalek History models, which made it easy to port in the overall structure but from
there pretty much everything has been either heavily modified or built from scratch.
The skirt and shoulders are designed to have matching gradients at the back and front, which necessitated a slight inward tilt to
the side panels. The curved runner is a refinement of the style I put on the video game Daleks over in Project Infinity, while the
bands are arm boxes of a standard Dalek have been tweaked to have cleaner proportions. The cowl on the dome has been
merged with the curves around it and the eyestick is a combination of influences built around a Ratbullets eye. The sucker arm
comes from the New Dalek Paradigm and the gun is a smoothed-off 2005 model with added greebling. The order of the day was
smooth, uncluttered larger surfaces and detail on the functional elements, hence the details on the hemispheres, eye and
gun.All told, I'm very proud of the result and it's been great fun ironing out the details over the past month - lots of back and
forth with Mal170582 to get things just right!

So there you have it! A fair amount of prototyping happened during this project, which you may have seen in Scraps, so there
might be a Dalek to be built from the left-over spare parts, but for now, here's the usual breakdown with added isometric views!

Enjoy!
