INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING OF FREQUENCY RELAY HDG 7020 DESCRIPTION 1.1 - Identifying label 1.2 - Indicators 1.3 = Settings rests 2.1 ~ Checks 2.2 - Testing COMMISSIONING - Setting operating levels - Commissioning 1. DESCRIPTION (see general publication 1785/1) 1.1 Identifying label This carries the following information : = UN = nominal voltage - nominal voltage/¥3 - nominal frequency terminals 10-11 - terminals 12-11 - FN - AUX : nominal auxiliary voltage - SCH : number of the connection diagram followed by a letter indicating the type of output contacts. The last line gives the serial number preceeded by a letter referring to the year of manufacture. 1.2. Indicators - A green LED indicates presence of the auxiliary supply voltage and the input voltage (U> blocking voltage). - A hand-reset mechanical operation indicator on each of the electromechanical output units menorises this operation. Settings For each operating level : - a switch provides over- or under-frequency setting, - a bank of 8 switches provide the setting : F = EN - 7 +2 (sum of set values). ATTENTION : Position FN + 5.75 is not usable. 2. TESTS 2.1 Checks to be carried out before any testing or commissioning - Check that the relay has not suffered apparent mechanical danage during transport, handling or mounting. -All the relays are delivered sealed. This seal should only be removed by a qualified person. - The auxiliary supply should be that defined on the relay identifying label. The guaranteed operating ranges are given on the connection diagram. ATTENTION : for auxiliary voltages above 125VDC or 100VAC, an external resistor must be mounted in series with the supply input, as shown on the connection diagram. This resistor is supplied by ourselves and its value is given on the identifying label after the auxiliary supply value. 2.2. Testing IMPORTANT : WE STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST TESTING THE RELAY WITHOUT ITS BASE BY PLUGGING STANDARD COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE PLUGS INTO THE FEMALE SOCKETS ON THE BACK OF THE RELAY. The relays are normally delivered with the following settings : - level Fl : "Max" or over-frequency : FI = FN + 0.3Hz - level F2.: "Min" or under~frequency : F2 = FN ~ 0.3iz Check that the setting corresponds to the above. Apply the auxiliary supply between terminals 4 and 5 and the noninal input’ voltage between teminals 10, and ii according to the connection diagram. Do not forget the external recistor if it is specified. The green LED should not be it and. the output units should not be picked up. Svitch the switch of level Fl to “min” for under-frequency) and that of level #2 to "max" (or over-frequency). The output units should operate. Slowly dectease the input voltage. The green LED should go out and the output unite should reset for a voltage below 208 UN (standard) or 70% OW (when auxiliary supply is derived fron the VI). Reset the input voltage to its nominal veins, ‘Set the operating levels to the required values for its application. If a variable frequency source is available it 1s possible to check the accuracy of the operating levels. ote 1? the standard drop-out value on the operating levels is 0.22 Note? : vith all setting switches to the right. the relay will” not operate as it is out of range. 3. COMMISSIONING 3.1 Checks - See chapter 11.1 - Check that the HDG 7020 is connected correctly according to its connection diagram and that the auxiliary supply and input voltage are those indicated on the identifying label. - Check that the relay is correctly plugged in and that the 4 fixing rods are screwed tight home in order to ensure good contact. 3.2 Setting operating levels Using the switches on the face-plate, set the operating levels to the required values : Example : level Fl over-frequency at 50.50Hz (FN = 50Hz) level F2 under-frequency at 49. 30H2 Put switch Fl to "max" and F2 to "nin". Set the operating level switches as follows : Fl = 50.50Hz = FN-~ 7+7.5=FN-7+Z (6. F2 = 49.302 = FN ~ 7 + 6.3 = EN- 7 + (3.2 +0.8+ +16 + 3.3 Conmissioning Apply the auxiliary supply and input voltage to the relay. Under norman network conditions the output units should not operate. Note : the test set type REF, Leaflet 1734, allows the commissioning of this relay. tae W Tae i : [ue Ly [eomase ae + Bebe et Nay wat fan. toby Sin" eit él @ NOTE 1: NOTE 2: when the auxiliary supply is taken directly from the voltage transformers (see alternative connection drawing) blocking setting 70% must be chosen. external resistor of our supply (drawing n°e6.
