Part one: Read the text then do the activities that follow 15 pts

The term “Exchange Program” means that students can study in a different country and live a
different experience from that they have in their home country. Anastasia is 20 year-old Russian student
who is telling about her unforgettable exchange experience:§1

“I have always dreamed to study in a foreign country, so when they chose me to take part in an
exchange program, I didn’t think twice. Living an exchange experience is a wonderful chance. I believe if
life gives you an opportunity like that, it is stupid to say no. This is why I decided to go to Canada. §2

I think the most amazing part about Canada was their culture. There are a lot of immigrants and
different cultures. As a result, you will never feel like a stranger. My neighbors and classmates in Canada
were very friendly. I lived in a lovely house in a nice and calm street not very far from Carlton University. I
usually had breakfast at home and then I had dinner at University or in a restaurant. It was not hard for me to
live on my own because I have been living alone at University in Moscow. §3

In Canada, classes started after midday and we spent only 3 to 4 hours at University, but we had to
read a lot of books at home and do many exercises. It was very hard. I had to study a lot. In the end, I finally
succeeded to pass the year with very good grades. Today I have returned to Moscow and everything is easy
again. I’m very happy I went to Canada, and I will never forget it.” §4
