along edge, through both edge and
frill at front to centre, then pick up

Left foot
Join back and foot seams. Using
smaller needles cast on 16 sts, then
with these on rh needle pick up
and K 9 sts from each side of shoe
as before. Work 3 rows in g-st,
working button-hole on second as
follows: K2, yfwd, K2tog, K to
end. Cast off.
Making up
Sew buttons into place at opposite
end of strap on both shoes.
