Inversions - Grade 5 Theory

We identify the key, the triads, and different inversions starting from the root, the third
and the fth.

Identify the notes of each triad, Sometimes the triad notes aren’t evident until the end of
the bar.

Eg Bar 1 B- at octaves (Root) on the Bass clef, F octaves in the treble (5th) nally the
major third D appears at the end of the bar.

Once the triad notes (chord) are identi ed, the bass clef notes give a clue which
inversion it is.
