_ 3RD PHILIPPINE. Sangguniang Kabataan AWARDS Oustanding SK Project Awards Eligibility 1. The applicant must be a bona fide SK couneil in a barangay. Sk Federations, both at Municipal and Province/City levels, are not eligible to apply under this category BUT are encouraged tojoin the Search for Outstanding SK Council Awards Category. 2. Qualified projects are those that were implemented from 2021 to the present date with at least three (3) months of duration. Projects that are implemented prior to 2021 that are still existing for at least 3 months of the year 2021 are still qualified to join. How to Join 1.Allinterested and eligible SK councils must submit an application form (see Annex 1) and pay the Participation fee of Php 2,500.00 per entry (see page 2 of Annex 1 for payment details Application form and screenshot/proof of payment must be submitted to PhilSKAwards@pydn.org with the subject ‘PSKA_Application_Projects’ on or before June 30, 2022. 2, Upon submission of the application form and proof of payment, the search secretariat will provide the list of documents that the participating SK council needs to submit. They will also include the schedule of capacity development sessions which could be availed for FREE to early bird registrants who will reg- ister before June 20, 2022. 2.After successful registration, you have until July 10, 2022, to finalize your entry. We encourage you to join the FREE capacity development sessions to help you craft your entries. Oustanding SK Project Awards Required Documen 1. Entry Form The entry form will contain the following information: (Please download form here) a. Executive Summary -a maximum of 200 word summary of the project including the problem being addressed, the key interventions, and significant outcomes. b. Community Profile - Give a brief description of the specific stakeholders targeted by your project. Include demographics, psychographics, and any other relevant information to provide a good under- standing of who they are and why you targeted them for the project. ¢. Problems/Challenges Identified - What problems or challenges are faced by the community? (in- clude baseline measurement of the problem, supporting Social Issues (negative mindset and behavior, KAPs, etc.), solid reference of the existing problem/issue (maybe in the form of publications, research results, stats and surveys, anecdotal records, personal experience. d. Key intervention - What is your SK Council’ intervention all about? What was the rationale behind it? How did you implement it? e. Project Results and Outcomes iWhat are the measurable, positive outcomes that can be directly attributed to the intervention/s project implementation? The use of figures to quantify the improvement is highly encouraged. ii. What social and behavioral changes were you able to achieve after your project implementa tion? What are the measurable changes in the community stakeholders’ KAP (knowledge, attitude, and practices) attributed to your intervention/s? f._ Points on Sustainability and Replicability - How have you ensured that your project will continue after your implementation? How will the community stakeholders be able to sustain it? What steps did you make in the possibility of replicating and/or scaling your project? Oustanding SK Project Awards Required Document: 2. Barangay resolution or ordinance Participating SK Councils must submit a barangay resolution or ordinance confirming the existence of their project and the timeline the project was conducted, 3. Photo Documentation Form Participating SK Councils must submit five photos of their project with a brief caption for each photo. (Please download form here) 4. Summary of Project Cost Participating SK Councils must submit a summary form of their project expenses based on the form provided by the PSKA Search Committee. (Please download form here) Notes in Submitting your Entries 1.Entries must be submitted to PhilSKAWards@pydn.org with the subject “SK Project_ [Name of couneil]_[Category]” on or before July 10,2022. 2. Acouncilis allowed to submit more than one (1) entry provided that each entry complies with all of the above-mentioned conditions. They can also submit as much entries as they want for the same or different categories, 3.By submitting your entry, the councilis signifying that the information shared is valid and submitted with the utmost integrity. Verifiable cases of fraud will lead to revocation of the award given. Oustanding SK Project Awards Choosing your Categorie Entries must fall in the following categories based from the Philippine Youth Development Plan 2017-2022, it should include, but is not limited to, the following strategies provided per category: Health *Ensure youth participation in healthy living and the prevention of accidents and injuries; “Strengthen youth participation in responsible sexual and responsible healt *Address and mitigate youth participation in sexval risk-taking behavior; "Address and mitigate youth participation in non-sexual risk-taking behavior; *and Address psychosocial concerns. Education ‘Increase and improve youth participation in education; and Improve educational performance and quality. Economic Empowerment *Optimize youth participation in the labor force; *Stop youth participation in vulnerable employment; *Promote youth participation in entrepreneurial activities; and Strengthen youth participation in employment enrichment support systems, Social Inclusion and Equity *Promote the prosocial participation of youth with specific needs; ‘*Maximize participation of youth with disability in society; *Promote the participation of indigenous youth in society; “Strengthen equal and equitable participation across genders (to address violence against women); “Strengthen equal and equitable participation across genders (to address job discrimination); *Strengthen equal and equitable participation across genders (to address LGBT@+ concerns); “and Strengthen equal and equitable participation across genders (to address gendered enrolment and attrition rates) Oustanding SK Project Awards Choc ng your Categorie: Environment *Strengthen youth participation in environmental activities; *Promote environment-friendly practices among the youth. Peacebuilding and Security Strengthen youth participation in promoting peace and order; *Optimize youth participation in the peace process; *Promote the prosocial participation of youth offenders, delinquent youth, and youth in conflict with the law; *Promote the prosocial participation of drug-dependent youth; *Protect the youth from violence in situations of armed conflict and from human rights violations. Active Citizenship and Governance *Strengthen enabling mechanisms for youth organization and participation: accreditation, assistance and awareness; *Engage the youth in the development, preservation, promotion and safeguarding, of Philippine culture and arts; ‘inculcate volunteerism through the engagement of the academe and the community; *Ensure universal participation in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK); Ensure universal participation in local and national elections; *Promote youth participation in government bureaucracy. Special Category for Outstanding SK Project in Children and Adolescent Participation and Development “Promote the rights and participation of children and adolescent through SK programs; *Strengthen the development of children and adolescents. Oustanding SK Project Awards Selection Process 1.Submitted entries will undergo a two-tier sereening process: first, through a phone interview by representatives of the Positive Youth Development Network, qualifiers will then be endorsed for a paper screening by a set of experts and as needed, a thorough field validation; 2.The top five (5) national finalists for each category will be selected using the following criteria: a, Social Relevance and Impact - 30% Importance of the project in addressing the needss or pressing challenges in the community is shown through the assessment of baseline data through surveys and/or interviews. It also talks about the posi- tive changes in mindset and behavior of the community members (directly resulting from the program), as well as the program’s impact on team members. b. Meaningful Children and/or Youth Participation (Community Engagement and Bayanihan spirit) - 20% Level of participation of children and/or youth in the project's success. Partnerships formed with rele- vant groups and engagement of key stakeholders. Teamwork and commitment of the proponents and the community stakeholders, ¢. Innovativeness and Sustainability (20%) The council created new ideas and interventions in their project and has ensured continuity of the pro- gram. d. Resourcefuiness (15%) Applying various techniques and ways of thinking to define, analyzing, prioritizing, finding alternatives for, and dealing with or solving challenges and problems that contribute to the success of the team’s objectives of the project. @. Completeness and quality of proposal - 15% Clear and effective presentation of results The organizers reserve the right to determine the number of finalists to be admitted per category. Itis possible that a category will have more than five (5) or less than Five (5) finalists or none at all. Oustanding SK Project Awards Selection Process 3.National finalists will be announced through the official PYDN Facebook page tentatively on the third week of July. (Follow us at facebook.com/PYDNOfficial/) 4.The national finalists for each category will be joining the face-to-face Grand Finals Expo on August 11, 2022, which will comprise 40% of their total scores. The paper screening scores, on the other hand, will complete the remaining 60%. 5.Entries that will garner an average score of 4.25 and up (with 5.0 being the highest) will be awarded as, Outstanding SK Projects in their category. Meanwhile, the entry with the highest score will be named. the Most Outstanding SK Projeet in their category. The organizers reserve the right to not award should entries not reach the average grade of 4.25. 6.By submitting your entry, you are giving the organizer right to share or publish pertinent information about your council and your project. 7.
