Teaching Format The main form of teaching: lecture, practicum classes.

Teaching/Learning methods Lectures are held with the usage of presentation material and computer technology.
Practicum classes are held in clinic as curatios, where students have group discussions and
analysis of the lecture material. Observation on patients, symptomatic diagnostics, diagnostics,
formation of the communication skills with patients - collecting of the anamnesis, planning the
treatment course, analysis of situational tasks.
Students’ term assessment methods are: oral presentation of the material, presentation of the
practical skills, case-method, students self-assessment, midterm assessment.
During independent work students are working on given course materials, it contains
understanding and analysis.

Material and technical Clinic, auditory

training course

Assessment criteria Evaluation system produces:

a) 5 types of positive assessments:
a.a) (A) excellent-91%-100%
a.b) (B) very good-81-90%
a.c) (C) good-71-80%
a.d) (D) satisfactory-61-70%
a.e) (E) acceptable -51-60%

2 types of negative assessments:

b.a) (FX) couldn’t pass- 41-50%-Which means that more work is needed. The student can
enroll in independent work and is given the right of an additional test.
b.b) (F) Fail-Less than 40% Work carried out by the student is not enough and the student must
retake the subject.

The semester assessment includes the necessary components-Midterm assessment and Final
exam. Each component has its percentage of the overall system of assessment, which
determines the course author/authors. For example: (1) 70/30 or (2)60/40, which means that in
the first case midterm assessments include assessment's 70 %, final exam 30%, in the other case
Midterm assessments include assessment’s 60%, and Final exam 40%.

Final exam should not be exceed more than 40%.

The assessment of the midterm is divided into the components
(Midterm, activity on seminar/practical matter, presentation, quiz, situational tasks, essay and
etc.) The percentage of the subject teacher defines itself
The student has the right to pass the final exam, which has crossed the minimum competence
margin of the midterm assessment (defined in accordance with the educational program).
If midterm assessment and final exam total point is 41-50, student is allowed to repass
additional exam. If midterm assessment and final exam total point is 40 or less than 40 student
is obliged to take subject again.
Student has the right to pass the exam in the same semester, at least 5 days after the final exam.

The assessment of a student shall be held by 100 grade point system that is composed of: 60
grade points for midterm assessments, 40 grade points for the final exam.

 The mid-term grade points shall be earned by the following assessment methods:
Oral presentation of the material – is held 9 times, except the first day, evaluated as 9 points per
term.
Presentation of the practical skills- is held 6-times, totally 24 points:
Collection of the anamnesis from patient, physical examination and registration of data – 1
point.
Interpretation and reading of the results of the instrumental examination - 1 points.
Diff. diagnostics and diagnostics - 1 point.
Development of the treatment plan- 1 point.
Case-method (review of situational task) - is held 6-times and assessed by 6 points.
Student's self-assessment: Student assesses his own learning knowledge with 0-1 points
1 point - The student is satisfied with his own knowledge
0 points - The student is dissatisfied with his own knowledge

Midterm exam is assessed with 20 points; it is held in complex manner, including: 1) test format
exam, including tests based on clinical cases – 8 points; 2) OSCE – is held in 12 stations, 4
minutes for each station. For each trial they get max. 1 point (1 point – very good response;
0,75 point – good response; 0.5 point – satisfactory response; 0,25 point – minimal or bad
response, 0 – no response at all) and earns 12 points.
The minimum grade point for the positive assessment shall be 30 grade points of the midterm
assessment.

Final exam is assessed with 40 points; it is held in complex manner, including: 1) test format
exam, including tests based on clinical cases – 20 points; 2) miniCEX – assessed by 20 points
(see the attached miniCEX evaluation paper template).
The minimum grade point for the positive assessment of final exam shall be 21 grade points.

Student has the right to pass the exam in the same semester, at least 5 days after the
final exam.
